It’s our first episode…unless you count our trailer (which you probably shouldn’t). And boy, do we have a great guest in store for you! In this episode, we’re thrilled to be joined by Yael Schonbrun. Yael is a clinical psychologist, assistant professor at Brown University, co-host of the Psychologists Off The Clock podcast, author of “Work, Parent, Thrive: 12 Science-Backed Strategies to Ditch Guilt, Manage Overwhelm, and Grow Connection (When Everything Feels Like Too Much), and parent of three.
How does she do it all? Frankly we have no idea, though she does share some of her secrets with us in this interview. Yael’s work uses science and Eastern philosophy to explore practices proven to foster healthier relationships between partners, parents and children, and between our most important life roles. In our conversation, we explore these and other themes, including the elusive concept of work-life balance, how to juggle and manage the various roles we play in our lives, tips and strategies for overwhelmed parents, and the importance of close social relationships to our well-being. We had a blast chatting with Yael and felt like we could have talked all day. Thankfully for your sake as a listener we don’t go quite that long, but we pack a lot of fun and interesting things into our discussion as you’ll soon hear!
