改编自《安徒生童话》，讲述了一位富裕王国的王子，当他成年时，希望可以找到一位真正的公主来当他未来妻子。但他的母后非常严苛，对每一位向往与王子成婚的公主都要做一个测试。直到一个風雨交加的夜晚，一個全身淋湿的自称是公主的女孩来到城堡，但王后不完全相信她的話。不過她还是被招待，住了下來。王后打算试试这个女孩，于是开始了一百张床垫和豌豆的测试.......

Narrator: Once upon atimetherewasaprincewhowantedtomarry a princess. But it was harder to find a princess than hethoughtitwouldbe.Hismother,thequeen,hadalotofrules.

Queen: There are tons of princesses that want to marry you. But you must marry a REAL princess.

Prince: But mother, I have met so many beautiful princesses and you have said no to them all!

King:Listentoyourmother.Sheknowswhatisbestforyou.

Queen:Noneofthoseprincesseswerereallyprincesses!Arealprincessisdelicateandsensitive.

Prince: How can I tell if a princess is real? They all seemed perfectly nice to me.

Queen: We must come up with a test. I know! We will pile up 100 mattresses and place a pea underneath. A real princess will be able to feel the pea under all of the mattresses.

Prince:Mother,thatiscrazy!Noonewillfeelapeaunder100mattresses!Iwillnever findabride!

Queen:Arealprincesswill.You’llsee.

Narrator: So the queen set up her princess test. Every time aprincesscameinhopesofmarryingtheprince,thequeenhadhersleep on 100 mattresses with one pea underneath. When theprincesswokeupthenextmorning,thequeenwouldaskhowsheslept. Every princess said that she slept wonderfully, and everyprincesswassenthome.

Prince: This test is foolish! There have been so many wonderful princesses, and you have said no to them all! I refuse to do this test any longer. I just want to find a princess to marry!

Queen: Be patient. I’m sure a real princess will come. We must still do the test. Otherwise, anyone could fool you into believing she was a real princess. We wouldn’t want that, would we?

Narrator: But no real princess came. One day, there was a terrible thunder storm. Suddenly there was a loud knock and the doorman opened the gate.

Doorman: Who are you?

Princess: Please, I am a princess come to see the prince. I have traveled a long way and am soaking wet from the storm. May I please come inside?

Doorman: Of course! Come with me. I will bring you to the queen. She will help you.

Narrator: The doorman brought the princess to the queen. She looked like a mess from all of the rain and wind. Water was dripping down her hair onto her face and there was mud all over her clothes.

Queen:Ohmy!Whoareyou?

Princess: Your majesty, I am a princess from a far away land. I havetraveledformanyweekstomeetyoursontheprince.

Queen:Butareyouarealprincess?

Princess:OfcourseIam!

Queen:Hmmm.Weshallsee.

Prince:Princess!Howcoldandwetyoulook!Pleaseletushelpyouwarmupbythe fire.Youcantellmeaboutthelongjourneyyouhave had.

Narrator: The prince and princess talked and laughed for hours. Finally, the queen called the prince away.

Prince: Oh, Mother! She is delightful! I think she will be my perfect wife!

Queen: Maybe, and maybe not. We will put her to the test. If she proves she is a real princess, then perhaps.

Prince: Mother, please no. I beg you. Do not make her take that foolish test. It does not prove anything.

Queen: She must. It is the only way to know if she is a true princess. We know nothing about her.

Narrator:Thequeenbroughttheprincessuptotheroomwith100mattresses.

Queen:Mydear,IdohopeyouwillbecomfortablePrincess: I’m sure I will be! 100 mattresses seems like quite the treat!

Narrator:Theprincesslaydownonthemattresses,buttossedandturned all night. She could not seem to get comfortable. In themorningshewentdowntoeatwiththeQueen,King,andPrince.

King:Hello,dear.

Prince:Ohgood,you’reawake!

Princess: Good morning!

Prince: My beautiful princess, would you like to walk with me to the pond after we eat?

Princess: Oh, I would love to!

Queen:Wewillsee.Butfirst,howdidyousleep,dear?

Princess:Well,Iamnotonetocomplain,butIslepthorribly.Iwasbarelyabletoclosemyeyesallnight.IwaslyingonsomethinghardandnowIhavebruisesallovermybody.

Prince: You see, Mother! She is a real princess!

Queen: Indeed, she is!

Narrator: The queen was finally satisfied that they had found a real princess. The prince and princess got married and they lived happily ever after.

旁白：从前有一个王子想娶一个公主。但要找到一位合适的公主比他想象的要难得多。他的母亲-王后，有很多规矩。

王后：有很多公主想嫁给你，但你必须娶一个真正的公主。

王子：可是妈妈，我见过这么多漂亮的公主，你都说不行！

国王：听你妈妈的话，她知道什么对你最好。

王后：那些公主都不是真正的公主！真正的公主是细腻敏感的。

王子：我怎么知道公主是不是真的？我觉得都非常好。

王后：我们得做个测试。嗯，有主意了！我们堆放 100 张床垫，并在最下面放一颗豌豆。一个真正的公主将能够感觉到所有床垫下的豌豆。

王后：耐心点，我相信真正的公主会来。我们必须继续测试。否则，任何人都会欺骗你，让你相信她是一位真正的公主。我们不希望这样，不是吗？

旁白：但是没有真正的公主来。有一天，一场可怕的雷雨袭来。突然，一阵敲门声响起，门卫打开了大门。

门卫：你是谁？

公主：你好，我是公主，来面见王子。我走了很长的路，被暴风雨淋得湿透了。请问我可以进来吗？

门卫：当然！跟我来。我带你去见王后。她会帮助你。

旁白：门卫把公主带到了王后面前。风雨交加，使她看上去一团糟。水从她的头发上滴落到她的脸上，衣服上全是泥。

王后：天哪！你是谁？

公主：陛下，我是从远方来的公主。我已经走了好几个星期，为了来见您的儿子王子。

王后：但你是真正的公主吗？

公主：我当然是！

王后：嗯。我们会知道的。

王子：公主！你看起来冻得发抖！赶紧在火炉前热乎一下吧。你可以告诉我你的长途旅行经历。

旁白：王子和公主谈笑了好几个小时。最后，王后把王子叫走了。

王子：哦，妈妈！她很讨人喜欢！我想她会是我完美的妻子！

王后：也许是，也许不是。我们会让她接受考验。如果她证明她是一个真正的公主，那么就可能是她了。

王子：妈妈，请不要，我求求你。不要让她接受那个愚蠢的测试。它不能证明什么。

王后：她必须。只有这样才能知道她是否是真正的公主。我们对她一无所知。

旁白：王后带着公主来到有100张床垫的房间。

王后：亲爱的，我真希望你会舒服。

公主：我一定会的！ 100 张床垫简直是一种享受！

旁白：公主躺在床垫上，辗转反侧。她似乎无法自在的入睡。早上，她下楼与王后、国王和王子一起吃饭。

国王：你好，亲爱的孩子。

王子：哦，太好了，你醒了！

公主：早上好！

王子：我美丽的公主，吃完饭你愿意陪我去池塘散步吗？

公主：哦，我愿意！

王后：我们会看到的。不过，你睡得怎么样，亲爱的？

公主：嗯，我不是一个爱抱怨的人，但我睡得不太好。整夜几乎无法闭上眼睛。我躺在坚硬的东西上，现在我全身都是瘀伤。

王子：你看，妈妈！她是真正的公主！

王后：确实，她是！

旁白：女王对他们找到了一位真正的公主感到非常满意。王子和公主结了婚，从此过上了幸福的生活。
