This week, Kat dives into the lies that we tell ourselves. It’s something that we all do for one reason or another… we lie to stay comfortable, we lie to avoid, we lie because it can feel good, and we can lie to continue a narrative that we want ourselves and others to believe. The tricky part is, sometimes we lie so well that we can convince ourselves that we aren’t even lying anymore. So, in this episode, Kat dives into some of the most common lies we tell ourselves, why we might use them, and how they might be hurting us.

Who remembers their first time? This week, Kat, Josie, and Julia reminisce on the first time they ever went to therapy. And surprise! All of their experiences were a little bit different. Kat refused to speak in her session, Julia's may have told her therapist what she didn't like about her, and Josie was wishing her therapist was "cooler".
Kat wanted to have a conversation that talked about what it is like to go to therapy for the first time and what you may experience yourself because doing new things can be super intimidating. While we can't tell you exactly what it will be like- we can give you three perspectives from three different therapists. In this episode we answer listener questions including:

This week, Kat is helping us differentiate between having a heated debate and having a respectful conversation. Every human is going to find themselves in a conversation where they do not agree with some of the other parties involved. While that may not be fun or ideal— it doesn’t mean you have to fight them! In this episode you will learn how reframing the goals of your “disagreements” allows you to understand your peers, friends, and partners better and vice versa.

In this episode, Kat recalls a haunting jail tour from years ago that left her feeling trapped in more ways than one. Though she isn’t a fan of scary attractions, the experience reminded her how real "stuckness" feels in relationships, jobs, finances, and more. Kat explores why making logical decisions can be difficult when emotions come into play, how our wiser selves often go missing in tough moments, and why the scariest thing is sometimes just feeling stuck.
