In our first episode of 2023 I am joined by 24 year old Karl Corcoran who was diagnosed with lymphoma two years ago.
As a young adult Karl fought cancer in Beaumont hospital after 12 months of undiagnosed pain.
As a young adult at the time, Karl felt in limbo between being treated to young to understand the gravity of the situation and too old to be supported through the reality.
We talk about his road to diagnosis, the future consequences of treatment on his energy, fertility, identity and independence and about his mission to be a leading voice for young adults fighting cancer.
You can find out more about supports for adolescents and young adults at CanTeen.
