Welcome back to another episode of the Paint, Rest, Repeat Podcast. This fortnight Ros and Laura talk about feeling vulnerable when putting something new out into the world and we both unpack our insecurities and where we each believe it stems from. Laura shares how her auto-immune condition Lupus has played into her insecurities and Ros shares how she has come to accept herself, by embracing as she says “messy me”.
We chat about the importance of moving forward in our art practice and Laura discusses the concept of “Practice over perfection” when starting out on your creative journey and how showing up repeatedly helps us to gain confidence. Ros has a similar motto “Progress over perfection” as well as “popping a brave pill” encouraging beginner artists to just keep moving forward.
We discuss how this art journey ties into our personal development journey uncovering all the broken parts of ourselves and nurturing the inner little artist child. We hope that you find some gems of wisdom and enjoy the Show!
