This happens all the time.

I asked him when he had a disc injury, and he told me it was from high school football. He was 32 years old.

He hadn’t had an MRI or major injury since high school. 

So, why did he think it was his disc?

Well, a lot of my patients think that disc herniations and bulges last forever. They think these are fairly severe injuries. It's understandable when you have severe low back pain or neck pain.

This is the point where I spend 30 minutes reassuring and educating him on the TRUTH about disc herniations.
