This is one of my favorites to record because I get to hear from you and hear your questions. Today’s question comes from our friend Mary from Boston. She asks a great question, “can you get herpes in your eye?” The short quick answer is, Yes. Yes you can get herpes in your eyes. The virus typically likes wet, moist and softer types of skin. So if you think about it, your lips and your genital region fit those specifications and so do you eyes. Remember, Mary, that the transmission is skin to skin so you can pass yourself herpes to your eye or any other region if you have an outbreak. On this episode, I recommend some ways to prevent passing the virus and how to wash your hands if you have come in contact with an open blister or sore. I hope this answers your question, Mary.
