Why garden? What if you don't have a garden?   Gardening is also a metaphor for healing - because just like a garden, we are a work in progress. The mayor of Asheville, NC made April 29th Angela Shelton Day in honor of all survivors. 

As filmmaker Angela discovered, 70% of the Angela Sheltons she found had survived child sexual abuse, rape and/or domestic violence and they all had healed, moved on, left abusive situations, put themselves through school, got sober and she finished her film. 

To be an "Angela Shelton" represents those who not only survive and break the silence, but also break the cycle of abuse and heal the world. 

In the words of nurse Angela Shelton in Florida, "Angela Sheltons do good hard things in the world." 

We can all be "Angela Shelton!"
