Finding the right camera is hard enough... but what about finding the perfect lens? There's an endless catalog of photography gear out there and information overload is definitely real!! Trust me, I've been through it! BUT the great thing about that is, since I went through it you don't have to! I've been experimenting with gear for over 10 years and have learned through trial and error what works for the wedding photography business and what doesn't.

So, if you're in the market for new gear or need a starting point for what features to look for in a lens, this episode of Mistakes Make Magic is for you! I'll be taking you through all of the reasons I use the Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 (and a few cons as well) and why I can't imagine shooting without it. I'll be talking through my opinions of important features like:

• focus speed: this camera is QUICK!
• performance in low light: I rarely even use a flash anymore
• price point: it's an investment... but a worthwhile one
