Another guest googler, another sound issue... we're on a roll!

INTRO: (00:00) Another guest googler episode! Welcome, Maria Flores Ragen! For those that don't yet get it, we don't actually have $10,000, or actually go anywhere. It's called an imaginary travel podcast for a reason. 

OBSESSIONS: (4:04) Guest googler Maria is obsessed with authenticity. We discuss whether our current era of social media is a help or a hindrance to owning who you are, especially for youth. On a completely different note, Alison is obsessed with this TIGI Dry Shampoo. Lulu is obsessed with having her own car to drive around. 

WISHLIST: (11:12) Alison has a new kitten, so she is wishing for the Pretty Litter monthly delivery service that you've seen all over Facebook. Maria wants to win a home makeover. Lulu wants an accessories overhaul. Luckily someone she knows shops for a living, so this wishlist item will be coming true soon.

LULU’S 10K DAY - KOH KOOD, THAILAND: (16:57) A stay in a villa at Soneva Kiri. Guests are flown directly to the resort’s private airport from Bangkok. Lulu goes for a dive lesson with BB Divers. Lunch is in a mushroom cave! Not much of a beach gal, Lulu is going to force herself to enjoy it. She gets this hammock, a cooler full of beer, and some good beach reads recommended by our 10k Baes. Now she's going to fly over an expert to give her sandcastle lessons. Dinner in a treepod where the waiters come in on ZIP LINES. 

ALISON’S 10K DAY - MARTHA'S VINEYARD: (31:38) Alison stays at the Beach Plum Inn. She is inspired by the Obamas' vacation in MV, so she starts with Farm Neck Golf Club...but she's gonna play tennis. Our guest googler helps us discover that despite the name there are no vineyards on Martha’s Vineyard. Alison rides the nation's oldest platform carousel, then visits Island Alpaca. Dinner and live entertainment at Farm Field Sea. Alison puts on a firework display. To reach 10k exactly, Alison buys an alpaca. Well, wait...

OBSESSIONS: (4:19) Alison feels so bougie with her new found obsession - Poo-Pourri Spray. Even her 4-year-old uses it. Lulu is obsessed with chips and salsa. 

WISHLIST: (11:30) Alison wants a new backpack, but its a want, not a need, so she has time to look for the perfect one. Lulu has deja vu as she counters that a backpack, though functional, makes her feel like a little kid. Lulu wishes she could play jazz trumpet, but like really cool. Let’s put a pin in it! 

ALISON’S 10K DAY - PIACENZA, ITALY: (19:02) She stays at a literal castle. She shops for new boots and some other items that she’ll need next. A private taxi gets her to tandem paragliding. Lunch at OR. Alison gets a customized wine tour through Cellar Tours. Next, a rock/jazz show at Teatri Piacenza. To spend all of her 10k, she is going to fly her and her daughter back to Italy to see Carmen in January. 

LULU’S 10K DAY - RIO DE JAINERO, BRAZIL: (41:52) She stays at theHotel Fasano. Breakfast at Da Casa da Tata. Does that mean House of the Boob? Lulu hires a car and driver to take her to the Christ the Redeemer statue. Lunch at Pérgula at the Copacabana. Lulu tries Jacu Bird Coffee at Monica Ponde Cafe. Sampling sweets at Brigadeiro Doceria. She heads to Ipanema Beach where she hires a bossa nova band and makes a music video. She takes in the sunset at Sugarloaf Mountain. Dinner at Marius Degustare.

For us, it’s the same as recording audio, except we have makeup on…pants too. Goals - one of us likes to share them out loud a la The Secret and because Oprah says. The other of us thinks keeping them private is the way to go. Can you guess which one of us is which? 

OBSESSIONS: (10:50) Alison is obsessed with Starbucks’ Cinnamon Almond Milk Macchiato. Lulu’s obsession is living by herself in a two-bedroom apartment. 

WISHLIST: (13:45) Alison really needs new patio furniture. Lulu wishes for an office chair that massages your sciatic area. 

LULU’S 10K DAY - BARCELONA, SPAIN: (19:30) Lulu stays at the W Barcelona, in a suite with a rotating circular bed. You see why we titled the episode what we did. Breakfast at Ugot Bruncherie. Lulu stocks up on some FC Barcelona Gear. An electric bike tour of Barcelona is next. Now for Flamenco and Tapas. Next, a visit to Aire Ancient Baths. Side note: We’ve actually been to the one in New York! A quick stop at Demasié bakery. Lulu heads back to her hotel, which has a sound recording studio. So she hires a DJ and records a single. Dinner at Tickets. Lulu ends her evening at the W’s Wet Deck Chillout Session, where the DJ plays her single!

ALISON’S 10K DAY - BORA BORA: (37:53) Alison loves the overwater bungalow suite at the Four Seasons. Her breakfast is delivered to her room via a ceremonial Polynesian canoe. Next up is a customizable snorkeling excursion, then a sailing trip and lunch through Vitamin Sea Bora Bora. After all this activity Alison heads back to the hotel spa for their signature gold ritual. A fishing excursion where the Four Seasons’ chef teaches Alison how to prepare her own fish dinner. Lastly, a sunset cruise with a bottle of champagne.

OBSESSIONS: (5:20) Alison is obsessed with getting her nails done, it makes her feel like her life is together. Lulu likes the feeling of peppermint in her mouth, so she's really into Mentos Pure Fresh Gum.

WISHLIST: (9:54) Alison wishes for a interior decorator for her home. She needs a pro-bono offer, anyone? Lulu wants Rothys washable flats.

LULU’S 10K DAY - EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND: (12:46) Lulu stays at the Cromlix, where she takes a private tennis lesson. She's gets a Range Rover SUV for the day. A trip to Scotch Whiskey Experience follows. Next is a visit to Camera Obscura, a museum of optical illusions. Lulu goes on a shopping spree at Royal Mile Whiskies. Time for some souvenirs from 21st Century Kilts, Bagpipe Galore, and  Cranachan & Crowdie. A stop at Edinburgh Gin Distillery, a seven course tasting at Purselane Restaurant, and then a unique experience at The Real Mary King’s Close. Continuing with the alcohol theme of this trip, Lulu has drinks at Bryant & Mack Private Detectives. She spends the rest of her 10k on fascinators and hats from House of Fraser.

ALISON’S 10K DAY - BIG SUR, CA: (32:30) Possibly the most expensive hotel stay the ladies have had yet, Alison stays at the Post Ranch Inn. Breakfast at Big Sur Bakery, where she picks up a few mugs to take home. Alison gets her "essence" painted, then heads to Henry Miller Memorial Library. She takes a rented 1965 Ford Mustang GT for a drive on Highway 1. To end her day Alison heads back to the Post Ranch Inn's restaurant, Sierra Mar. She has an expensive bottle of wine and a four course meal before a relaxing evening in the jacuzzi.

INTRO: (00:00) Our first special episode, we have a “guest googler” to fill in all the gaps of the things we mispronounce, misunderstand, and more. Give a 10k welcome to Jacob McAlister. 

OBSESSIONS: (5:07) Alison is obsessed with local spot Evermore Cafe, they have coffee ice cubes in their iced coffee! Jacob is obsessed with his Soda Stream. Lulu is obsessed with Alison’s tech skills, and her breaking in skills…wait, what? 

WISHLIST: (10:39) Lulu wants sound lessons for our podcast. Alison is swayed by Jacob’s obsession with his Soda Stream and now wants one too. Jacob wants someone to come to his house and change his oil. Does that exist? Guess that’s what we have a “guest googler" for.

ALISON’S 10K DAY - MONTENEGRO: (15:15) Alison found this villa with a sea view on Airbnb. She goes rafting on the Tara River, then does a wine tasting at Castle Savina. Lunch at the Dukley Beach Lounge, then Alison sails around the Adriatic Sea. Dinner at the Olive Retaurant. Alison hits Top Hill, an open-air club in Budva. Alison and Lulu are excited when their “guest googler" tells them it has a hookah bar.

LULU’S 10K DAY - CHARLOTTE, NC: (29:00) Lulu stays at the Ritz-Carlton. Black car service from Blacklane takes her to Carowinds, where she captures the excitement of the rollercoasters with her new GoPro. Lulu buys a season pass to support Triad Stage. She then buys strawberry wine at Grove Winery. Lulu bravely tried axe throwing. A visit to the Ritz’s spa for a massage involving chocolate. Lulu then gets a $400 cocktail at The Punch Room. Surf & Turf dinner at 5 Church. She has more money to spend so she decides to get a luxury mini bus to bring everyone from Triad Stage to her axe throwing excursion.
