It’s the beginning of a new Speed Street era as show founder Conor Daly welcomes his new co-host, Chase Holden. Listeners may recognize Chase from his Garage Guys Report brand and his motorsports social media content. The two wasted no time in dissecting the week’s action packed racing news cycle, which saw IndyCar entertaining the idea of guaranteed starting positions for the Indy 500 and Kyle Larson passing his rookie evaluation for Arrow McClaren at Phoenix. Conor also fills listeners in on his own Indy 500 plans as it was announced he’ll be joining the Dreyer & Reinbold team with Ryan Hunter Reay. 

After the break, Conor welcomed Indy NXT racer Jacob Abel onto the program to discuss his experience thus far in the Road to Indy ladder and how it’s helping him to prepare for his future ambition of being a fulltime IndyCar competitor. Jacob tells the story of how his father’s Abel Motorsports team went from being a vintage racing outfit to one of the most competitive teams in the Indy NXT paddock. Jacob explains that this year he’ll be focusing on becoming a better qualifier as he and the team strive to bring home an Indy NXT Championship.
