12. Healing Generational Trauma with Psychedelics & Music: Jeremy Colbert (Taragápe)

Listen Later

Jeremy Colbert, also known as Taragápe, is a musician, sound healer, energetic alchemist, certified integration specialist, and facilitator for ceremonial Earth Medicine experiences. He holds a degree in music education and after teaching children music for eleven years in Pittsburgh, he has shifted paths to support adults with the reconnection to their inner child as well as the full spectrum integration of the magic and karma of what it means to be human on Gaia. Music plays a central role in Taragápe’s practice and facilitation as he believes it to be the vibrational geometry that holds space for our energetic alignment.

He currently resides near Boulder where he continues to develop and expand his practice and offerings – regionally and remotely. Taragápe’s debut album, Spirit Maze, a sonic integration piece, is available on one’s preferred music listening platform.

In this episode, Michaela Carlin and Jeremy Colbert (Taragápe) discuss …

  • Jeremy’s first psychedelic journey and subsequent integration process that ultimately birthed the song ‘As Above, So Below’, which inspired the theme music of this podcast
  • Jeremey’s first trip to Peru to work with Ayahuasca and how the lack of integration support he received there led him to develop his own approach
  • The ways in which Jeremy’s personal psychedelic integration work as well as his integration coaching are deeply connected to music
  • What is shadow work and how can we bring our shadow into the light?
  • Jeremy’s struggle growing up witnessing his mother embodying one persona socially and a different one at home
  • Recognizing aspects of his mother’s trauma in himself
  • The powerful synchronicities connecting the death of Jeremy’s mother and Ram Dass’ book, Be Here Now
  • Jeremy’s coaching work with mothers and how he sees psychedelics impacting their parenting
  • The energetic frequency of victimhood and how it can be absorbed by children from their parents
  • Self-love as the guiding principle of Jeremy’s psychedelic integration coaching
  • How a strong masculine container for medicine work can help feminine energy flow more freely within it
