Good Movement Draws Good Movement

13. Behind the Good Movement Music with Aaron Espe

Listen Later

I have a very special guest on the podcast today - Aaron Espe! Aaron is actually the incredible creator behind the good movement music here on the podcast, so I was very excited to have him on the show. I’ve been a fan of Aaron’s since I first heard him play (I like to consider myself a ‘superfan’) - his music has been like a soundtrack for my life over the last few years, and it really helped me ‘get moving’ again when I needed it. We talk about what Aaron’s journey has been like in the music industry so far + where his focus will be next, what went into creating the good movement music for the podcast, the inspiration and details for his new book, On Songwriting, and more.

In this episode, we cover:

  • Aaron’s journey so far in the music industry, and how he’s choosing to focus on making the next, best decisions for for his values and family
  • Aaron’s thoughts on good movement + our first connection about the podcast
  • The process for creating the Good Movement music for the podcast
  • How Aaron’s song for the podcast brought me joy and really helped me get moving again in my own life
  • Aaron’s Up North album + co-writing, and how it’s changed since the pandemic
  • The inspiration for Aaron’s new book, On Songwriting: Practical Tips and Insights from a Decade in Music City + what you can expect from it
  • The power of actually writing your thoughts and ideas down in the moment
  • Not discounting the mundane, everyday tasks in your life
