Lisa Marie has had the privilege of working with birthing families for close to 25 years in a variety of settings and circumstances. From her early years raising her own family, to being a doula, to her midwifery practice now, her love and passion for this art only increases over time. She has a passion for women that have known emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, and she believes birth can help integrate and heal their experience. It has been an evolution of learning and stretching that has allowed her to empower women and men to embrace their experience and catch their own babies. Oftentimes the prenatal time is a time of exploring, stripping, and untangling old wounds so that the way of the heart is made clear. Lisa Marie believes pregnancy is The Great Revealer, causing us to see things more clearly than before, including our current relationships.

What three things does Lisa Marie Sanchez Oxenham want the world to know about caring for women?



- The collective wisdom of a woman’s ancestry is in her DNA. Her story hides in her cervix and requires disclosure for birthing to unfold.

- Each birth is an invitation to different aspects of our own growth potential. We are separate parents for each soul.

- We have to be willing to be changed by the women we care for: midwifery is often a mirror. Know your biases, your history, and seek healing. Learn from the people you serve.
