Dr. Barton Boyd Brown is a retired US Army Information Operations officer and President of Lexington Solutions Group. As a member of the first cohort of Army IO officers, Dr. Brown has planned and executed IO for conventional and special operations forces in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Balkans, and around the globe. His military IO assignments include service at the Land Information Warfare Activity as a Field Support Team Chief and later as the J3 Information Operations Division Chief for Joint Special Operations Command. Upon retiring from the Army in 2006, Dr. Brown joined Booz Allen Hamilton, where he supported clients across the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. In 2014, he founded Lexington Solutions Group to provide national security, strategic communication, and management consulting services to both government and commercial clients.
IPA is a non-profit organization dedicated to exploring the role of information activities, such as influence and cognitive security, within the national security sector and helping to bridge the divide between operations and research. Its goal is to increase interdisciplinary collaboration between scholars and practitioners and policymakers with an interest in this domain.
