Welcome to Episode 18 Part 1 of the Eats Podcast!
So excited to have you join me today as I dive into a topic that's close to my heart. In this episode, I'll be sharing Part 1 of 10 actionable steps that I've taken to significantly improve both my mental and physical health as I've transitioned into my 50s. These steps, which I began implementing in my 40s, are aimed at helping you unlock a sense of happiness and well-being within your own body.
I kick off the episode by reflecting on my journey of breaking free from years of restrictive diets and food tracking. Intuitive eating has played a pivotal role in allowing me to connect with my body's needs and nourish it in a way that feels genuine and sustainable
I then delve into the importance of nourishing my body intuitively and listening to its cues. While trendy diets might work for some, it's crucial to recognize that every body is unique. I discuss the balance between nourishing our bodies with essential nutrients while also indulging in the foods we love. I share some specifics on what I’m doing now.
I emphasize the significance of finding the dietary approach that aligns with your individual needs.
I openly discuss my decision to give up alcohol. I explain how this choice not only positively impacted my physical health but also played a significant role in improving my mental well-being, reducing anxiety, and enhancing my sleep quality. There is no judgment around this conversation.
In this digital age, I emphasize the need to strike a balance when it comes to social media. While it offers valuable information and connection, I've learned to limit mindless scrolling and focus on content that enriches my life.
Being proactive about my health has become a priority. I stress the importance of regular checkups, comprehensive testing, and advocating for yourself when it comes to medical care. It's essential to understand your body's unique needs and address any concerns promptly.
Thank you for tuning in to the first part of this two-part series. In the next episode, I'll continue sharing the remaining five action steps that have contributed to not only my health, but also have improved my clients’ well-being.
Remember, these steps aren't about achieving perfection, but about fostering strength, resilience, and happiness as we embrace the journey of aging.
