A packed weekend of racing at Michigan International Speedway and Road America left plenty for our spotter trio of Brett Griffin, T.J. Majors and Freddie Kraft to cover. NASCAR implemented the choose rule for restarts across all series. The guys break down how it played out in both Cup Series races, the teams’ strategy behind it and how their drivers handled it. Freddie and T.J. provide insight on lobbying to move the location of the spotters stand after a treacherous Truck Series race. Contact with Alex Bowman forced an unscheduled pit stop for Clint Bowyer on Sunday. Brett discusses why a substitute spotter is to blame. Brad Keselowski took Ryan Blaney out while racing for the lead and the guys react. The Xfinity Series used a no live pit stops format at Road America. Despite being a cost-saving measure, the gang shares why it was an epic failure. Erik Jones said he was blindsided by losing his ride at Joe Gibbs Racing. The guys dive into JGR’s history of firing drivers. It’s off to the Daytona Road Course for the inaugural NASCAR tripleheader. Hear how spotters and drivers are preparing to race on a new course without any practice.
