1912 Exiles

We're baaaaaaack! Did you miss us?

After a well-deserved hiatus, Rhys is joined by Ed and Ian to go through the big headlines of County's close season. We explore:

• How the squad is shaping up
• Fixture release day
• The new kit
• Pre-season games
• The Trust AGM

In the pod, we talk about the importance of building the Supporters' Trust membership and we would urge you to join here if you're not already a member. We also mention that new music is out today (Friday) by all-round good eggs Tinty & The Bucket Hats, so visit their Twitter to find out where you can listen to that.

We'll be back in a few weeks' time with a bumper season preview edition looking ahead to our first few games. In the meantime, you can contact us via Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn with any suggestions for topics to discuss or questions for the panel.

You've already listened to Part 1, right?

Here in Part 2, our panel - Ian, Rhys, Jamie & Ed - go through the retained / released list, discuss where we think the biggest gaps are for next season as things stand, and take questions from you, our wonderful listeners.

We've released over 30 podcast episodes this season, and we hope you've enjoyed listening to them as much as we've enjoyed making them. If you have, please consider donating the price of a cuppa towards our running costs - and if you can't, please at least recommend us to a friend and leave us a nice review somewhere.

We'll probably do a few episodes over the summer - if you have suggestions for topics to cover, get in touch via Twitter or Facebook. We'd also welcome any volunteers who'd like to be part of the panel next season - especially anyone who can bring a bit of diversity to our very male and pale lineup!

As trailed, we have brought together Ian, Rhys, Jamie & Ed for an End Of Season Special. Because it's a special, we really stretch our legs on this one and have a lot of fun. This episode is Part 1, where we give our verdict on the season, pick out our highs and lows, and discuss the grounds we're most excited about visiting next year.

In Part 2 (out tomorrow), we go through the retained / released list, discuss where we think the biggest gaps are for next season as things stand, and take questions from you, our wonderful listeners.

It may not have had anything riding on it, but that didn't stop Ian making the long trip down from Leeds and Rhys making the not-quite-so-long-but-still-a-bit-long trip from the West Country for Newport County vs Rochdale on Saturday. The team may have ended the season with a whimper rather than a bang, but your 1912 Exiles have been with you every step of the way and we're not giving up now.

We'll be back soon for an EXTENDED end-of-season special with the full panel. Watch this space. Ahead of that, please drop us a line via Twitter or Facebook if you have any questions or thoughts you'd like us to discuss when we do!

Season over? Jamie and Ed discuss the defeat to Colchester and the end of any realistic promotion hope for 2021-22. We also explore Rowberry's comments about a transition period and what they may mean, as well as the rumours of Aneurin Livermore's departure in the summer. But amidst all the gloom, we remain surprisingly optimistic!

We hope to bring together the full panel after the Rochdale game for a proper End Of Season review, so we'll be back soon.

As always, drop us a line via Twitter or Facebook with your thoughts - or to volunteer to come on a future episode!

Well that wasn't much of an Easter, was it? Twin defeats, against Crawley (H) and Sutton (a), have left the Exiles' promotion chances looking decidedly sticky. We bring you audio diaries of both games courtesy of Rhys and Ian (with help from Jamie). We'll be back for Friday night's game against Colchester - we hope you'll join us there as County seek to #PackTheParade.
