Jamie brings together Ed and Jack to discuss the 4-0 thumping of Harrogate, the planned return of fans to Rodney Parade, the balance between "fizzy midfielders vs onions and gravy" (don't worry, it makes sense in context) and Love Actually (not sure that reference made sense even in context). We also praise striker Alex Fisher's gesture in cutting off his golden locks to raise money for the Little Princess Trust; you can find out more and donate here.
And then in the second half of the pod, Ed speaks with James Cave and Martin Calladine about their new book looking at why lower-league and non-league clubs attract interest from wannabe owners keen to make a quick buck, and some of the ways in which fans are fighting back against them. We really cannot recommend their book strongly enough - if you like the pod, you will definitely enjoy the book, so please give it a read.
Next week, in the final part of our trilogy looking at how the game is run, the full panel will discuss how Newport County can thrive as a fan-owned club. We'll also (hopefully) have some Scunthorpe insights from "Man on the Northern Beat" Ian Street.

Our first proper pod of 2022, and it's a belter!
Rhys, Ed and Ian pick the bones out of Saturday's behind-closed-doors defeat to Salford and cast a critical eye over County's transfer business so far and what the rest of the window might have in store. We also doff our cap to the people who've set up the Yr Alltudion account on Twitter for Welsh-speaking / Welsh-learning Exiles; da iawn chi!
In the second half of the pod, we have the first of our three-part look at how football is run and the implications for County. In this episode, we speak with Niall Couper of the Fair Game initiative (of which County were a founding member) to hear about their proposals to improve how football is governed, and what the recent fan-led review could mean for future policy. If you want to support their campaign by lobbying your local MP/MS, find out more here. Next week, we'll hear from the authors of an excellent new book looking at shady owners and how fans can resist them.

Shh.. it's the ghost of Christmas past here. Just sneaking in a bonus episode whilst the 1912 cast are still busy with the joys of the festive period. They promise they'll be back very soon with a panel discussion!
Gather round County fans; it's time for a Northern story with our man on the beat, Ian Street!
Live a day-in-the-life of a Newport County supporter and listen to the history, the culture, the booze, the form and the roar of the terraces all in this bonus episode where Ian takes us on a journey to Rochdale away.
Disclaimer, we lost 3-0.
We couldn't not do a pod after that game, could we?
Jamie, Ed and Ian pick the bones out of last night's sensational comeback at home against Sutton United, and heap praise on several County players as well as on David Ajiboye who ran the show for the visitors in the first half. The panel also look ahead to Saturday's match at home to Port Vale, and we've also got some insights off Jonny from the Ale & The Vale podcast on what to expect.

On what might otherwise have been a long old week with no County game at the end of it, we were really pleased to sit down with some of the County in the Community team to talk about the We Wear The Same Shirt initiative. The project was set up to create a place for adults to improve their mental health and wellbeing through the power of football. It's free from the pressures of competition and offers a chance for people to get together, forget their worries and enjoy themselves. Anyone wanting to find out more and potentially attend a training session can contact [email protected]
We're really grateful to Luke, Emily and Norman for talking to us about the initiative and the difference it makes. All of the County in the Community work is so important to the club, and hopefully we can feature some of their other projects in the future.

Ed was due to catch up with both Chris Kirwan from the South Wales Argus and with regular contributor Jamie Harris - but with the latter stuck in IKEA, this ended up being a two-hander.
The pair take a step back after a very intense run of games to look at how the Rowberry era has gone so far, the differences in approach from Michael Flynn's tenure, and the shifting dynamics of County's midfield trio. They also discuss last week's open meeting for supporters, praise the work of Darren Kelly and look ahead to a trio of pre-Christmas games against Sutton (H), Port Vale (H) and Rochdale (a). We also have a bonus quiz: IKEA product or 1974 Sweden World Cup player?

After a brief Twitter altercation regarding the state of the Rodney Parade pitch, Dragons Rugby CEO and former Just Eat founder David Buttress joins the podcast for a chat on all manner of things;
- What are the challenges with Rodney Parade and why were Cardiff Blues invited?
- What does his proposed takeover of Dragons Rugby mean for Newport County
- He talks of previous "bad leadership" and the challenges to overcome in the relationship between football and rugby in Newport. Going so far as to provide detail with some of his frustrations on his first few years as chairman of the rugby side.
- Has his father, a longtime Newport County supporter ever asked him to get involved with NCAFC and would he be open to the hybrid model of ownership in future?
- We discuss sporting tribalism and its place in Newport
There is much, much more discussed in this extensive talk and is not to be missed, David pulls no punches across many subjects, some quite sensitive to some!

We've got cup fever ahead of Saturday's match at Morecambe in the FA Cup, so Ed caught up with Dave from The Shrimps Verdict podcast. They discuss (and, amazingly, don't come to virtual blows over) the playoff final last May, the wonder of Kevin Ellison, and the thoroughly dislikable Derek Adams. Oh, and also make predictions for Saturday.
