I’m so excited to share Ethan’s birth story with you! I’m a new mom again (and we are officially a family of four). Baby number two, Ethan Daniel McCravy, is absolutely so wonderful and amazing and it’s been fun doing this all again (but with more experience than my first go around).
If you listened to Colin's birth episode (episode 148), you know that my birth did not go according to plan but God still showed up in so many ways. Ethan’s birth also did not go according to plan, and in fact, I ended up having an unplanned c-section, which I share all about on this podcast episode.
I really believe it’s so important to share stories like these because we often only hear birth stories that are glamourized: the “quick births”, the “unmedicated births” and “the ones that went according to plan”. The truth is that despite parts of the birth being disappointing, I still love my birth and I believe so much of it was really beautiful.
Plus, at the end of it all, I ended up with a perfect and special baby boy! God showed up in Ethan’s birth in so many amazing ways. Thank you for holding space and caring enough to listen to this story!
If you’re a fellow c-section mama and want some encouragement, you’ll find it in this episode! And, if a c-section really scares you and feels “worst case scenario” as you think about your own labor and delivery, then I hope this episode encourages you to see c-sections in a different light.
