Today on the podcast I’m talking with Erin Davis, the author of an article you may have read that has made its way through the interwebs, called 3 "gospels" that are pressuring young women. It’s an excellent article that I have shared not just online but with my youth group girls and my own 13-year-old daughter. Today we’re going to talk about the themes in that article, which are anxiety and depression and the debilitating theology of pulling yourself up by the bootstraps, being perfect, having to perform, and this idea of reverse providence – you choose your path, you take care of you, you must make it happen.
