Branchy is joined by Gerard Mazza — better known as Big State — for a powerful discussion on the corruption plaguing government, the realities of tax extortion, and the misuse of Australia’s gas royalties. They break down how the left vs. right narrative is fueling division and why restoring compassion, understanding, and true leadership is critical for the future. A must-listen for anyone ready to see behind the political theatre.
*CORRECTION: In the episode, I said Mark McGowan gave an exemption to the domestic gas reservation policy to Mineral Resources. In fact, he gave the exemption to Beach Energy, owned by Kerry Stokes. This was the first time onshore gas was allowed to be exported, and it opened the flood gates. Roger Cook gave a later exemption to Mineral Resources. It can be hard to keep up with all the different players rorting us for our gas. I think it’s still fair to say Mineral Resources benefitted from McGowan’s decision to begin allowing export of onshore gas. As I said in the episode, it’s easy to accidentally spread misinformation. I think it’s important to correct it when you realise that’s what you’ve done. Gerard
