Adam Goddard held off Ed Marks to take out the Australian Road Running Championship at the Burnie 10, winning in 28:36 with Brian Fay of Ireland in third. Leanne Pompeani went back to back in 31:46 to hold both the Australian Road Running and Marathon Championship in the same year, with Bronte Oates second and Holly Campbell third.

Yomif Kejelcha won the Valencia Half Marathon in a solo effort 58:02, while Andreas Almgren set an European Record of 58:41 in fourth place. Jimmy Whelan 1:01:40 the first Australian, Isaac Heyne in 1:02:13 . Agnes Jebet Ngetich won in a World Leading time of 1:03:08

Ruth Chepngetich has been formally banned for doping violations for three years.
