  • How can I get out of this prison as a registered nurse?

You are not in a prison - except for how you are viewing it. Stop charging by the hour. Start being paid for the value you are creating and it can dramatically change your satisfaction and income. Here's an example of how you could do that as a nurse - or with any specialized skill.

    Questions:

    1. Same prison, different cell

    2. How do you know if the ideas you have fit together as one business, or if you are casting your net too wide?

    3. I need help prioritizing... am in transition for the 2nd time in 18 months... 8th time in my +25 year career and tired of that!

    4. After much consideration and jumping to and fro, I decided to hand in my resignation letter and give my parents (my employer) 3 months heads up.

    5. Are there any trustworthy patent attorneys out there?

  • Do you have a message worth sharing?

We're told 81% of Americans say they have a book in them. Personally, I think a lot of those should stay right where they are - inside them. Not every story needs to be shared with the world. Let's save the trees and also save the needless dissension caused by thousands of books that are being thrown out to the world. But if you do have a message worth sharing there is a process for doing it well. In this conversation, author Jonathan Milligan and I discuss his new book, Your Message Matters.

    Questions:

    1. Does everyone really have some kind of special gift?

    2. Is there really room for everyone to have a unique message that is worthy of sharing?

    3. What are some ways people can share their message?

    4. Tell us a couple effective ways to connect with an audience who cares about our message.

    5. Do you think everyone is capable of turning their unique message into a profitable business?

To get direct links to more information on these topics plus the link to get Jonathan Milligan's new book free (just pay shipping and handling), go to the podcast show notes at https://www.48days.com/your-message-matters/.

  • Why do you stay stuck when you know what to do?

Being successful requires more than having a great product or knowing something well. It requires continued learning, marketing what you have, and selling to a customer. That applies to getting a job, keeping a job, getting a promotion, or starting your own business. Do those and you can succeed in any way you want.

    Questions:

    1. After 8 years and only making $10-20K, is it time to stop?

    2. Do I have to start a second business to sell my art?

    3. Can I join the 48 Days Eagles before I'm well established in my business?

    4. Why do people fail to take action after they've been coached in what to do?

    5. Are you sitting on top of a Liquid Paper kind of idea?

  • How long should I starve in my passion before getting a real job again?

How long should I starve in my passion before getting a real job again? Do we always assume following our passion is risky and insecure while a "real job" provides the security we seek? It may not be as predictable but the big rewards never come from a secure, predictable path.

    Questions:

    1. I quit my $80K job to become a starving artist. How long should I wait before just signing up for a "real job" again?

    2. Do you think it's possible to have a successful online business these days with little to no social media presence?

    3. I've been part of a family business for almost 30 years out of obligation. It's time to find my own path.

  • Do you want to win at work or at home?

Have you ever felt like you had to choose? What does your life now tell us about the choices you've made? In this conversation with Michael Hyatt he shares how to sleep more as a way of accomplishing more. How to enjoy a "profitable pause" as a surprising way to succeed more. And how to start the process of winning more, no matter where you are today.

    Questions:

    1. Tell us about that day that gave you your biggest win and also the pain of a big failure.

    2. Don't we have to work more hours to accomplish more?

    3. How is "balance" different from spending time equally in the important areas of life?

    4. Is there really such a thing as a "profitable pause?"

  • God gave me a passion but not the talent to do it!

I really don't think God is mean and capricious as you suspect. Just take responsibility for your success and know that the door is as open as to anyone in the world. But you have to create a plan of action. Handing your life over to God does not mean walking away from your desires and passions – rather, it means finding authentic ways to make those passions come alive.

    Questions:

    1. God has given me a passion that is completely mismatched with the opportunities in my life.

    2. When I read this in 48 Days I stopped dead in my tracks.

    3. Now that I have my own business, how do I find great employees?

    4. Am I too old to begin the process of creating my own business?

    5. How Can I grow my comedy blog following and deliver more value to them?

  • Are you just taking advantage of our pain?

You're right to question spending any money or time in any self-help program. But don't slam the door completely. Ask yourself if being too cautious or suspicious is helping you create a better life. If you won't spend $24 on the chance that you could dramatically change your life – you're probably being way too cautious. And being suspicious of every new idea will keep you trapped in the same life you have now.

    Questions:

    1. Dan, are you out there? Is there really any hope? Do you really have some workable solutions for the rest of us? Or are you just cashing in our insecurities?

    2. At night, I often can't shut down the worry and feel guilty about laying in bed, neither sleeping nor getting anything done.

    3. I am a 62 year old female that has worked for 45 years as a secretary in different fields. I am currently working on being a home based gluten free baker. How do I get my head out of my XXX and get things moving?

    4. How should I invest $1000 a month to grow my wealth?

    5. Can I make a business out of being a do-it-yourself remodeling consultant?

  • Do this and throw out your alarm clock!

We play off our intro song - Takin Care of Business. If "you wake up every morning to your alarm clock's warning" you probably aren't getting enough sleep. With work that you love and getting ample sleep, you won't need an alarm clock. Here's a process for doing both.

    Questions:

    1. What if you don't see anything on your three year horizon other than more of the same of what you are doing now, and what you were doing three years ago?

    2. Should I stick with my current employer for the next 10 years until I do what I really enjoy?

    3. I'm 42 years old and in a place of extreme aggravation and frustration.

    4. My wife is afraid I'll outgrow her.

    5. I'm honoring my wife and killing myself.

  • Here's your path to "uncommon success"

What if you had a clear path to Uncommon Success? To financial freedom and fulfillment like you've never experienced up to this point? What if that path had specific action points that were not dependent on your academic degrees, your current income or past record of success - but simply required following a step-by-step process? Would you be willing to do that if you could transform your success in 3 years - in one year - or even in 48 Days?

In today's podcast I'm interviewing a dear friend (John Lee Dumas) who has spent the last 10 years interviewing over 3000 of the world's most successful entrepreneurs - and from those revealing interviews has put together that step-by-step plan — and it's available for you - today.

    Questions:

    1. Does everyone have "a big idea"?

    2. Why do people overlook their big idea?

    3. Can someone use your Path even if they are part of a team - and maybe don't want to just do their own thing?

    4. In these changing times should we first just try to get back to normal?

    5. Does there ever come a time when a business - or life - is secure?

Get the direct link and instructions to pre-order John Lee Dumas' book and get the free journals in the podcast show notes at https://www.48days.com/john-lee-dumas-path-to-uncommon-success

I'm 27 years old. Is it too late to find the work I love?

You can fill in the blank for age. I get these questions every week from people 27 to 77. Age cannot stop you from thriving and prospering unless you allow it to. You can write and rewrite your story until you get the results - and the ending - you want.

    Questions:

    1. I am 57 years old. Is it too late in life to change?

    2. Why are you not a fan of people sharing their income reports?

    3. Do you have any suggestions for work that would be music related?

    4. I'm a senior in college. If I use the concepts in "48 days" now, will I secure a job before graduation?

    5. I recently resigned from my job in banking after 28 years. I felt I was dying a slow death and was desperate for a change. Any ideas about what I should pursue?

    6. I'm considering starting my own consulting / outsourced "cfo" business.

    7. My credit is shot and I have no savings - but I want to start my own business. Any hope for me?
