LISTEN & SUBSCRIBE ON: APPLE PODCASTS | GOOGLE PLAY | STITCHER | SPOTIFYOn this episode, I’m interviewing Dr. Robert Gore. He’s an Emergency Medicine physician who is fighting to save the lives of young people from violence in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Gore is accomplishing this through his organization called Kings Against Violence Initiative (KAVI). KAVI is a hospital and school-based youth violence, intervention, prevention and empowerment program targeting teens that have been injured as a result of violence or at risk for violent and recurrent violent injury.
If you are looking for the blueprint on how to have an impact on your community this is the episode for you. We talked about the dynamics of being raised in “pre-gentrified” Brooklyn and the effects it had on his career trajectory.
I got a chance to meet Dr. Gore while I was a medical student doing a sub-internship at Cook County Hospital. He was impressive then, but to see his impact now…it’s awe-inspiring.
