On today's episode of How'd She Do That? Emily welcomes Cristina Lynch, founder of Mi Golondrina onto the show!
Inspired by her mother’s Mexican heritage and love of Mexican art, Cristina wanted to continue telling the story of Mexican art by preserving the traditions of hand-embroidery and empowering artisans throughout Mexico. We loved hearing about the early days of this beautiful brand. Every Mi Golondrina garment is born in the small villages of Mexico, hand-stitched by skilled artisans who have been using these methods for over 200 years.
Why the name Mi Golondrina? As a young girl, Cristina often frequented her grandfather’s ranch house in Mexico and would see small swallows or ‘golondrinas’ nesting in the eaves of the roof. She would envision these golondrinas flying about, delivering the beauty of Mexico to women all over the world... and she's done just that!
During our recording, Cristina was pregnant with her second child, who arrived on July 1, 2021. Welcome to the world, Robert Harrison! Your mom is pretty cool. We know you will enjoy today's episode with Cristina... this is one you'll likely want to share with a friend!
