In the tranquil town of Knightdale, North Carolina, the Pladl family appeared to lead a typical suburban life. Steven Pladl, a man with a shadowed past, resided with his wife, Alyssa, and their children. Their seemingly ordinary existence took a dramatic turn when Katie, Steven’s estranged daughter, re-entered their lives after years of separation and adoption by another family.

Katie’s return was intended to be a new beginning, an opportunity to mend fractured relationships and forge new connections. Yet, as she settled into her new home, the family dynamics began to shift in disquieting ways.
