The Sixers entered the weekend on the heels of their fourth and final training camp practice at Stockton University in Galloway, NJ; however, during that session, 2016 number one draft pick Ben Simmons sustained a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot.
On Sunday, October 2nd, the Sixers gathered to practice for the first time since Simmons' injury was announced. Several members of the organization spoke about the situation, and addressed how the team, in the short term, will move forward.
In this latest episode of The BroadCast, Sixers.com's Brian Seltzer plays back some soundbytes from these media availabilities, which featured:
*Bryan Colangelo discussing the approach the Sixers intend to adopt in respect to Simmons' recovery.
*Brett Brown examining the club's frontcourt rotation, and which players might now receive increased reps in Simmons' absence.
*Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor sharing lessons they learned while rehabbing from their own respective injuries.
*Dario Saric comparing his own versatile skill set to that of Simmons.
*Jerryd Bayless talking about the impact that Simmons' injury might have on Bayless' point guard workload.
