Providing the soundtrack to the near-800 games that Allen Iverson played for the 76ers wouldn’t be too bad of a gig, right? Such became the nature of Tom McGinnis’ assignment over the course of Iverson’s 12 seasons with the 76ers.

McGinnis, set to begin his 22nd year as the voice of the Sixers Radio Network, joins Sixers.com’s Brian Seltzer for this September 8th edition of The BroadCast. The two veteran Philadelphia reporters followed Iverson extensively for Comcast SportsNet, and reflect on what it was like to cover such a distinct superstar during the 10 seasons he spent with the Sixers. After taking a podcasting hiatus that lasted far too long, Sixers.com’s Charlie Widdoes and Brian Seltzer return for a September 2nd edition of The BroadCast, and are joined by Scott O’Neil. The conversation with the Sixers' C.E.O. begins at the 6:40 mark of the podcast. Also featured in this episode, in the “News and Notes” segment, Charlie and Brian provide an update on Joel Embiid. On the heels of the 76ers’ 2016-2017 regular season schedule being released, Brett Brown, set for his fourth season as the team’s head coach, calls into The BroadCast to chat with Sixers.com’s Brian Seltzer about a variety of subjects. In addition to examining different elements of the club’s forthcoming slate, the two discuss:

On Tuesday, August 9th, the Delaware 87ers, the 76ers' NBA Development League affiliate, held their fourth annual "87ers Day." To mark the occasion, new head coach Eugene Burroughs set out on a "7 Stops for Sevens Strong" tour, which stopped at Grub Burger Bar in Wilmington, DE. Sixers.com's Brian Seltzer caught up with Burroughs at the restaurant, and the two discussed Burroughs' career path, and an opportunity he described as being "once in a lifetime." Plus, the podcast recaps Dario Saric's Olympic debut.

With Dario Saric and Croatia scheduled to begin the group phase portion of the 2016 Olympic men's basketball tournament against Sergio Rodriguez and Spain on Sunday, Sixers.com's Charlie Widdoes and Brian Seltzer felt it would be worthwhile to to reach out to Emmet Ryan, a respected European basketball reporter who runs the website ballineurope.com.

The 2016 off-season has been both a busy and productive one for the 76ers. To recap some of the major developments surrounding the organization, Tom McGinnis, the long-time play-by-play announcer on the Sixers Radio Network, joined Sixers.com’s Brian Seltzer for an August 2nd, 2016 edition of The BroadCast. The two discussed the first professional impression that Ben Simmons left in the summer league, the promise displayed by Simmons’ fellow first-round pick Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, and the signing of Dario Saric. The 76ers’ wrapped up their summer league stint in Las Vegas last week; however, several prominent members of the organization remained behind to tend to another important obligation.

This past Monday, USA Basketball began intensifying its effort to prepare for a third straight Olympics gold medal bid, and forward Jerami Grant, center Jahlil Okafor, and special advisor Jerry Colangelo have been involved in the process.

Grant and Okafor were nominated to the country’s Select Team, which has been practicing with the Senior National Team. Colangelo, meanwhile, continues to serve as Managing Director of USA Basketball, a position to which he was appointed in 2005.
