Well, hello anxiety with Dr Jodi Richardson

8. A tool for your anxiety toolkit, w/ Dr Jodi Richardson

Listen Later

Those of us with anxiety tend to worry lot. For much of my life, worry detracted from my happiness and quality of life, and often stood in the way of things I wanted to do. This is often the case with anxiety and when we don’t know how to manage worry in helpful ways; we lean on other people for reassurance, we avoid getting involved in activities that light us up and we hold back from taking important, meaningful action towards what we want most in life. Grief and distress often accompany our chronic worrying too, taking us even further away from living a full life.

Today’s episode will change all this for you, and for any young people in your life who struggle with worry too. You’ll develop a new perspective on what your thoughts actually are, you’ll learn a powerful question to ask yourself, or a loved one, when worries show up, and you’ll learn a number of different ways you can put distance between you and what you’re thinking. All of this gives you the space, time and know-how to move on from worrying thoughts and to re-engage in life in the here and now. This tool has been a game-changer for me, I think it will be for you too.
