How is culture and society affecting how you feel about yourself as you age?  

 

In Episode 9, I talk with Skylar Liberty Rose, pro-aging champion for women. After helping women find courage through creativity, she faced a personal struggle with social media and took a six-month break. During that time, she discovered the importance of embracing authenticity and started a documentary diary called "A Woman in the World" on Instagram. The project gained recognition and was featured by the National Women's History Museum. Inspired by this experience, she now focuses on helping women embrace aging.

 

Skylar and I talk about what women in midlife are dealing with when it comes to aging, being ourselves and limiting beliefs as our bodies age.

 

We talk about the anti-aging industry and marketing to women over 40.  Skylar shares ways we can disentangle ourselves from this cultural conditioning and our own conditioning.  We tackle phrases like “looking good for her age” and “anti-aging”.

 

Skylar gives us ways to feel authentically ourselves. There is absolutely no judgment around how women choose to deal with aging.  It’s all about us feeling comfortable in our own skin and living in alignment with our values.
