Joe Ovies, Adam Eshbaugh, and Wayne Holt host this week, and welcome Daniel “Rusty” Barker, General Manager and Head Brewer at Oaklyn Springs Brewery in Fuquay-Varina. 

They sampled the Oaklyn Springs Brewery Kolsch, and their Peaches on Parade IPA. 

Oaklyn Springs Brewery tap room and brewery are open to the public five days a week. 

Oaklyn Springs Brewery will be participating in the Celebrate Fuquay-Varina Festival, Saturday, October 5th from 10 am to 4 pm. 

There will be live entertainment, craft beer, a chili cook-off, other food, art vendors, and a free kids zone.

They were working on a collaborative bird lager during the podcast. 

Then, they talk about Bond Brothers expansion and how they are going to use the new “Eastside” location.  

The 8th annual Oktoberfest 4 Miler will be presented by Bond Brothers on Saturday, October 12th, and Joe and the panel talk about the use of recovery beers after running and exercise. 

During the second segment, Joe interviews Andy Schnitzer about the reopening of Standard Foods as Standard Beer and Food. The beers for Standard Beer will be brewed on site, and accompanied by casual foods. Andy also gives an update on Ancillary Fermentation, another project that Whit and Andy are involved in.

Scott is the Director of Sales and Distribution; and Chris Burns is the Triangle Area Sales Manager. They brought in the Wise Man Scholar’s Dream: Strawberry Rhubarb Berliner Weisse, and they referred to their Blackberry Raspberry Tropical Shirts Berliner, and their Full Current, a Blackberry Boysenberry Gose. Then, they tried the Wise Man Rustic Pease Kolsch and the Wise Man Sweet Shade IPL, an American Lager. After that, they have an open discussion of children and dogs being allowed at breweries, and the parameters that should be observed. Then, they sampled the Wise Man BBA Merry World Breakfast Stout. And, Wise Man will host Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 21st and 22nd in Winston-Salem.

Jay and Jeremy talk about Bond Brothers’ expansion to a second location in Cary. The new space, dubbed “Eastside” will include a barrel room, a cooler room, a new taproom, and office space. By adding a second location, Bond Brothers can expand their development of their sour beers. Stay tuned for the opening of Bond Brothers’ second taproom later this year.

Old Tuffy will be available in grocery stores, restaurants, and convenience stores. New Belgium previously brewed a specialty beer for Colorado State University.
