94WIP Middays with Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio

In hour 1, the 94 WIP Midday Show are talking Sixers and questioning whether or not we should fully buy-in to this 2025 squad after their fifth straight win last night. Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the trading block and there have been a lot of rumors that the Sixers may want to look into the possibility of trading for him. Joe Giglio wants to invest in the team because the Eastern Conference is wide open this season, but does not want to trade for Antetokounmpo. Hugh Douglas wants to stay put, enjoy this season, and watch the slow growth of star rookie VJ Edgecombe.

In hour 2, Eliot Shorr-Parks joined the 94 WIP Midday Show to discuss what the Sixers strategy should be as the trade deadline looms. He says that the team is worth investing in and that Daryl Morey should care more about this season than the future. But he also is hesitant on trading away multiple pieces, specifically VJ Edgecombe, for Giannis Antetokounmpo. He says that it would be irresponsible not to think the team can make the NBA Finals this season. The Pro Bowl was last night and its clearly become a very unattractive event for fans.

In hour 3, Spike Eskin joined the 94 WIP Midday Show to discuss the current situation surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo as the trade deadline looms near. He argues that the Sixers should trade for Giannis because it gives them the best chance to win a championship. He also says that the team as currently constructed can make the Eastern Conference Finals. He says that anyone who has faith that Joel Embiid can stay healthy the remainder of this season is crazy and insane. It seems like the Bucks have not gotten any offers enticing enough to trade Antetokounmpo.

In hour 4, the 94 WIP Midday Show look at some Flyers headlines surrounding coach Rick Tocchet and Matvei Michkov. Tocchet said that he was unhappy with Michkov coming into preseason camp out of shape. Hugh Douglas compares this situation to his playing career when he also had a coach who was unhappy with him for being out of shape. Also, there was an intervention with the rest of the show to talk about Hugh's current rivalry with the morning traffic in Philadelphia. He is mostly wondering what Michkov is doing whenever he is not playing healthy and says that if he truly has a mindset to get better, this will not be a recurring issue.

Spike Eskin joined the 94 WIP Midday Show in-studio to present the reverse angle of today's show. He argues that the Sixers should trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Eskin is worried that the Sixers will detract at the deadline by trading away pieces to avoid the luxury tax. He also has no faith in Joel Embiid staying healthy the rest of this season. He also says that that Sixers are good enough as currently constructed to reach the Eastern Conference Finals.

The 94 WIP Midday Show are giving updates on the latest Giannis Antetokounmpo news. The Bucks seem content to let the situation carry into this next offseason. This implies that the Bucks have not received any offers that they feel are worth it for Giannis. Joe Giglio says that the team deserves a little push and that people should start investing. He also says that people have become afraid of trying. Lastly, he says that Joel Embiid's contract is awful and that the Sixers should consider finding someone to take it.

The 94 WIP Midday Show are reacting to the Pro Bowl last night and making fun of it for how much of a joke it has become. He also recalls a funny story of a specific Pro Bowl that he played in.

Eliot Shorr-Parks joins the 94 WIP Midday Show to join the discussion on the Sixers, Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Eagles, and more. He says that the Sixers are worth investing in because they have a decent chance to make noise in the playoffs this season. He says that Daryl Morey should keep more of an eye on this season than the future. He says it would be irresponsible not to think they can make the Finals this season. On Vic Fangio, he thinks that these recent news come down to whether or not Fangio wants to continue coaching.
