Today's episode is angled to be about parenting and motherhood but really can be applied to all facets of life. We discuss the seemingly ominous concept of pivoting from our original plan - whether that be how or where your child sleeps, using a pacifier, or screen time habits to name a few. Adapting and changing course is an inescapable part of raising children, and we've demonized it as this thing that is SO hard - so much so that you should NEVER start off on the quote-unquote "wrong" side of a habit in the first place. We talk about mental resiliency and acceptance of what IS - the reality before us - with the particular child we have, in the particular circumstance of our life - and how we have to adapt to that in the moment. Because if we don't, we increase our suffering - and oftentimes setting our expectations right will help us to either avoid or move through the micro griefs that come with ordinary aspects of parenting. This is a fun one, let's dive in.
