Caregiving can take a toll on the physical health of a caregiver. We’ve got some tips in episode 2 of our Self Care Series for Caregivers! Of course, it’s important to get clearance from your doctor before you start any physical regimen. Then start out low and low. Listen to what your body is telling you. Make your exercise regimen affordable, reasonable, sustainable, and mostly importantly - fun! Do an activity that’s enjoyable for you. Make it a social activity and invite a friend. Having someone to exercise with, having company in the form of an accountability partner is a great way to keep the exercise going. One of the most important things a caregiver can do for the person he cares for is take care of himself. The quality of life of a person with chronic, serious, or terminal illness is affected by the quality of life of the caregiver.
