Lots of news from WPX18 today. Gregg Doud addressed attendees over lunch about what's happening in the world of trade, and we had a chance to sit with Maria Zieba, NPPC's Director of International Affairs to get an update on the conversations she's had with NAFTA negotiators and the new tariff news that was announced this week from Mexico, Canada, and EU. Plus, severe weather has struck a lot of the country over the past few days, including Mike's house!

While Mike spent his morning cleaning up storm debris (siding and windows), Delaney had the chance to visit with Terry Medemblik from Walinga, Inc and Doug Jasper from Red Rock Holdings about a new trailer that's designed to put the welfare of the livestock first. Sprinklers, drinkers, fans, and an elevator all make the pig's roadtrip just a little easier.

Mike and Delaney are spending the next few days at the World Pork Expo in Des Moines; talking to producers and industry experts from around the world. Today, Delaney caught up with USDA Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs. He talked briefly about trade, but the focus was on the upcoming Farm Bill legislation and how important he believes establishing a vaccine bank is for livestock producers.

Also, more news coming out of DC with headlines being driven by a LACK of news on RFS from President Trump. Iowa Senator Joni Ernst raised some eyebrows with her confrontation with EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and Delaney talks about the future of Monsanto as a brand.
