Timely curing alfalfa windrows can be a challenge with rain and adverse weather. Also, alfalfa stems dry slower than leaves; so higher nutritional value leaves sometimes dry and drop from the stems prior to baling. Todd Whitney, Nebraska Extension Forage Agronomist.
