After months of trying to line up our schedules, I was finally able to have my good friend Ben on the show. I convinced him to come on by telling him we would talk about racing so that's what we did. We talked F1, NASCAR, golf, and gambling. Always good a good time!
Mason and Megan Young came all the way from North Carolina last week and spent some time here with us in Michigan. We traveled up to Mackinac Island and then onto the Upper Peninsula and visited Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Tahquamenon Falls, and White Fish Point. We got to spend some time together in Kalamazoo and luckly got to catch day one of Hotrod Magazine's Drag Week event at US131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI. So thankful Mason and Megan came up and got to spend some time with us! Can't wait to do some more traveling together soon!

We're back! After a busy couple weeks, we had the opportunity to sit down with Jared Fulton, Chris Merry, and of course Matt is back too. Jared co-owns Freedom Firearms in Battle Creek, Michigan with his brother. He also co-owns the Cricket Club bar in downtown Battle Creek, Swonk's Flowers and Gifts in Battle Creek, and Michigan Tackle in Battle Creek. To top it all off, he's also acting president of the Sportsmen's Club of Battle Creek. To say he's a busy guy is an understatement! Thankful he took some time to sit down with us and talk about guns and running a bar and just getting starting in multiple business opportunities. We had a great time getting to know Jared and look forward to having him back on the show! Check out Freedom Firearms for expert firearm sales, service, indoor range, and CPL training.
Long time friend, Benjamin Dykstra came out and sat down with us to talk about what is going on across the used car market and car sales in general. Ben has spent his career selling cars for dealerships, eventually moving into management positons, and recently leaving all of that to develope his own business training dealers and other people in car sales. He has also started a business buying used cars for dealerships. Ben started Vehiclehero.com and is working hard to grow his vehicle buying network. A lot of laughs and great stories made for a great time! Can't wait to have him back out!
Kaj Carlson and Corey Lucas come on the podcast this week and we talk duck hunting. Kaj is one of the only guys I know who is an avid duck hunter. So, when I messaged him about doing a podcast about ducks, I was super excited when he agreed to come on the show, and man, he did not disappoint. Best part is he brought a complete stranger, Corey Lucas. Corey runs Cedar Run Decoys and hand crafts some of the finest decoys on the market. They are truly works of art. Kaj and Corey have a real passion for hunting ducks and Matt and I really enjoyed getting to know these guys a little bit and learing all about waterfowl. Can't wait to get together and do it again, hopefully after we get the opportunity to get in the duck blind with them! See Corey's work at www.cedarrundecoys.com and follow him on instagram @cedarrundecoys. And give Kaj a follow on Instagram too, his photography does not disappoint!
Tyler and Jessica came by to talk about their recent trip to the Pike's Peak International Hill Climb race. We also talk about Tyler's big win in the True Street 10.0 class with his Mustang a few weeks back at the NMRA/NMCA race here at our home track US131 Motorsports Park. Don't worry, it isn't all about racing though, we briefly discuss Hotwheels cars and other toys that two grown men still get excited to go look at when we go grocery shopping.
Our good friend, engineer, and cool car guy Mike comes on the podcast. Mike is an engineer for a consulting firm here in Kalamazoo. He's a wealth of knowledge and has all kinds of really cool experience. He spends a lot of time road racing his Nissan 300zx and has also raced competivily in the 24 Hours of Lemons series for many years now. Good time sitting down with Mike tonight and talking cars for a little while. Can't wait to have him back out! Enjoy!
A quick trip to Charlotte, North Carolina this past weekend to hang out with our good friend Mason, see a couple awesome bands, and drive a truck home to Michigan. Mason and I sat down Saturday afternoon and talked about a number of things including: Mason and his wife's recent trip to Alaska, Etsy, Amazon, racing, music and much more. We even had another first time guest call into the Podcast while live!
Trevor Tracy is a husband, father, coffee aficionado, and before this podcast....a complete stranger! Trevor works in hospitality managing a coffee shop and cafe in downtown Kalamazoo . He knows coffee, and knows it well! I was hopeful going in that I'd learn something new, and Trevor didn't disappoint. He has a wealth of knowledge of the coffee industry and the hospitality industry. Super interesting conversation you just may learn something from!
