We've been back from our trip to South Dakota for a few weeks. We finally got some time to sit down with our friend Matt Mihm and talk about our trip. I talk about my successful turkey hunt the week before we left as well. Our travels imspired a lot of thoughts on the Black Hills area, the land, the natural beauty, and the Lakota people who call this area home. We ponder some thoughts about property and who actually owns land. We discuss the cultural experiences of traviling, or lack there of. We determine that Ashley has a lot of mixed feelings. Oh, and one other thing, we experienced a few technical difficulties while recording during a thunderstorm, so don't mind the power outage. Enjoy!
Back from a week of vacation and with an awesome episode! Chris Merry came back this week and brought his long time friend, tattoo artist Art Solis. Right away I knew we were in for a great time and lots of laughs! Art is an extremely talented artist who has done everything from airbrushing t-shirts to building insane custom motorcycles, and now spends his days tattooing. It was a lot of fun learing about his upbringing and what brought him to his current career as a tattoo artist. We had lots of laughs and I can't wait to have him back soon! Find him at inkstationtattoo.com or on Instagram @artsolistattoo.
Ashley and I loaded up the car and headed West for a very special episode live from Omaha, Nebraska. We had a great time visiting some long -time family friends Jamie and Kathy. We spent the day touring the town of Omaha and seeing quite a few things it had to offer. Excited to get back!
Chris and Matt come by the podcast once again. We talk a bit about Matt's new business venture and get some updates from Chris on his recent shoulder surgery. We talk a little music and going to concerts which turns to complaining about current COVID restrictions and the hope of getting back to normal. Probably should have just called this one "Shooting the Sh*t with Jake"!
The second half of our conversation with Jessie and Tyler goes a little deeper into Jessie's world. Moving to Michigan, not wanting to sleep in the race car trailer, and swimming with manatees in Florida. Thanks for listening!
This week on the American Inexperience, Tyler Hassing, his wife Jessica and newly added co-host Matt comes on the podcast this week. We get to know Jessie and how she got involved with open wheel racing at a young age and how she turned what she loved into a career with public relations and social media management for race teams and brands. We also talk about Tyler breaking the stock gen 1 Ford Coyote engine quarter mile record with his 2013 Ford Mustang and the challenges it took to get that number at the track. Congrats to both of them on the awesome accomplishment. Enjoy part one and tune in next week for some more stories from Tyler and Jessie!
Part two is here and things get a little out of hand. We talk more with Mallory, Megan, and Ashley about social work, being cool teachers, teaching during the pandemic and the whole craziness that teachers are working with during this mess. We also discuss just how bad some schools are lacking supplies and other things kids need to make it through their day. The show goes off the rails when your host partakes in a few too many drinks and goes on a rant about fathers who leave their children and the lack of real men in today's society. Can't wait to have these ladies back on the show!
After being told we need more women on the podcast, we finally got to sit down with three wonderful women! Mallory and Matt have been friends for many years. So, after a little convincing, she caved to the pressure and came on the show! But, not only did she show up, she brought two friends with her! This made for an epic podcast! We talked all about being mothers and raising kids, drinking White Claw, and the Enneagram Test. It was all way more information than I ever expected to get, but you can take that quiz at: https://www.truity.com/test/enneagram-personality-test and figure out your number. What a great time with some great women...and this is just part one!
Ashley and Matt are back again to continue talking about food. We had a few inquires into Ashley's journey with hypoglycemia and how she has used food to give her a much better quality of life. We talk a little bit more about the carnivore diet and give a few updates concerning some of the things we touched on in an earlier podcast. We also dive deep into how one's self-worth is influenced by what they eat and how connected we are spiritually with food and its effect on our emotional state of mind. Everything is connected.

My lovely wife Ashley and I sit down for a quick update on some of the things we've had going on over the last week. Home improvement projects gone wrong and field harvesting bison. Also wanted to give a quick shout-out to every one that continues to download and listen in each week! We are super close to 1000 downloads in just 14 episodes which is just incredible! Thank you for checking out the American Inexperience. Find us and give us a follow on Instagram and Facebook.
