Have you ever thought of contacting an astrologer to have a reading but were you too skeptical about moving forward with it? When it comes to practices like astrology or tarot reading, there is still a lot of reluctance and suspicion about them, especially among people with a religious background. Growing up in a catholic Latino family, I was taught these practices shouldn’t be trusted. When I was finally able to have a reading myself, I realized that the negative connotation of these practices was just a myth. There are people on this plate who have been given the gift to see beyond our 3D reality and can genuinely help and support people in need.
Today’s guest, Yazamin Adibi, will tell us how her upbringing allowed her to pursue her gift, why she considers herself a love witch, and what her business Shadow and Light is all about.
Yazamin Adibi is an astrologer, artist, and witch. She's based in her hometown of Los Angeles, California. Yazamin is a first-generation Iranian-Mexican whose family has used art and divination for generations as a form of resistance. She grew up listening to her father's Islamic incantations that empowered a revolution. She also studied herbalism with her grandmother to support the mental health of low-income Latinos during the war on drugs. Yazamin grew up in a world where spirit creates reality. The intersection of spiritual and political liberation has always been synonymous to her. Currently, she continues the legacy of her ancestors via practicing Astrology sound, tarot movement, and witchcraft from a lens of activation and liberation.

Growing up in the western world, we’ve been mainly exposed to traditional forms of medicine and therapy. For this reason, when we hear words like “hypnotherapy” or “tapping, we can be a bit skeptical about their effectiveness. The truth is that these holistic healing techniques have been practiced for hundreds of years worldwide and have healed countless people, including members of my family. When my husband went through a very stressful situation at work, we reached out to Dawn Hassmann, and thanks to her tapping teaching, he completely healed. I am so grateful for her, and I can’t wait for you to listen to this episode to learn what hypnosis and EFT tapping can really do.
Today’s guest, Dawn Hassmann, will tell us why she decided to become a hypnosis and tapping practitioner, the benefits of these practices, and why every healing process starts within ourselves.
Dawn Hassmann is a certified hypnotherapist and advanced EFT Meridian tapping. She graduated with honors from the hypnosis motivation Institute in Los Angeles, the first nationally accredited college of hypnotherapy. Her scope of practice is vocational self-improvement. Trauma doesn’t necessarily need to be something that happens to us in our lifetime; it can also be something that has been passed down to us through generations of our family. When this happens, you feel inside yourslef a burden that it’s challenging to deal with since it’s not really yours, and usually, it takes deep internal work to face it and heal it. One example of this type of generational trauma it’s the Mother Wound, which is the pain of being a woman passed down through generations of women in patriarchal cultures. And it includes the dysfunctional coping mechanisms used to process that pain.
In this episode, I will share my personal experience with Mother Wounds, my healing process, and why I made it my mission to help other women heal from their Mother Wounds.
Healing from traumas like the Mother Wound is not easy, and it requires a lot of internal work and willingness to face our deepest fears and pain. If you feel ready to do this work but don’t know where to start, you should join my upcoming free Masterclass: Learn How to Handle Your Shit by Rewiring ANY Cultural Limited Beliefs. Did you ever stop doing something because you got a resounding NO for an answer?
Dealing with rejection is tough, regardless of whether it happens in the personal or professional sphere. It is uncomfortable to put ourselves out there, asking for things, expose a need fed by our dreams, and get a door closed in our faces. Still, the decision to turn a negative answer into a definitive response is ours; we get to decide if the "no" we hear is the final word. Our guest's successful career is a testament to that.
In this episode, I'm joined by Farrah Walz; she is a professional hairstylist, but not any hairstylist, my hairstylist. She has been cutting hair and creating striking visuals for women since 2009, and she became a salon suite owner in the last couple of years in Whittier, California.
Tune in to Episode 90 of Amiga, Handle Your Shit, and learn about Farra's story of commitment and relentless determination to achieve her dreams. We travel back to her post-high school years, her first job at Macy's, the empowering feeling of financial independence conquered at a young age, and her desire to become a hairstylist. We delve into the challenges she faced along the way and the times she refused to take a no for an answer.
We also talk about her first job as a hairstylist, her part-time job at Drybar in Pacific Palisades, cutting the hair and styling Hollywood movie stars, and the decision to spread her wings and start her own business back home in Whittier.

As human beings, we live our lives mostly alone and with our immediate family around us. This can be good for most of us, but it’s undeniable that sometimes there is the need for something bigger, like a community that can support us in moments of need. We are never alone, there is always a community out ready to help us if we look around us. As the world is becoming bigger and bigger, relying on our community is what will make us stronger and ready to face everything life will bring to us.
Today’s guest, Fatima Djelmane Rodriguez, will tell us how she started working in the nonprofit sector, what it’s like to be a woman CEO and what the goal of the Ronald McDonald House of Charities of SoCal is.
Fatima Djelmane Rodriguez is a native Angelino raised in the San Gabriel Valley. She attended Ramona Convent Secondary School, earned her BA in Communications from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication, and her MA from the University of Texas at Austin’s Radio, Television, and Film program. Upon graduating from UT Austin, Fatima began her search for work in the nonprofit sector. Devoted to community service, Fatima wanted to work for a grassroots organization focused on community building and empowerment. Her search led her to Proyecto Pastoral where she was employed for nearly eight years. Fatima then transitioned to work for Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times in January 2013. She was drawn to their mission of building healthier lives for children with cancer and their families. Fatima was promoted to CEO and assumed the position on January 18th, 2022. She’s excited to be at the helm of RMHCSC, with a deep passion for the organization’s mission and deepening our impact throughout Southern California.
