In this week’s Short Story Wednesday, it’s just Brent and Mikaela, and things get a little bit all over the place. 😂
We’re calling out a few states that apparently need to step up their Angels Among Us listening game, talking about hitting more than 100 episodes, dreaming about some new Angels Among Us merch, and sharing a beautiful story about a little boy who remembered the grandfather who “brought him to earth.”
But underneath all the fun is a reminder we both needed.
Sometimes God’s answers don’t come through huge miracles. Sometimes they come through a phone call, a friend who stays, a spouse who carries us through a hard season, or someone who says exactly what we needed to hear.
And sometimes the difficult things we go through are the very experiences that help us come to know our Savior personally.
Brent shares why he can say with confidence, “I know that my Redeemer lives,” and Mikaela reminds us that when heaven feels quiet, the answer to “Where are You, God?” may be standing right beside us.
We hope this episode reminds you to notice the people God has placed in your path—and to remember the truths you already know.
And as always…
Go look for those angels.
What happens when the miracle isn’t the ending you prayed for?
In this powerful episode of Angels Among Us, Melody shares the story of her son Adam—a little boy whose life was filled with unmistakable moments of faith, miracles, and angels.
Years before Adam became sick, their family survived a terrifying car accident. Just before the crash, six-year-old Adam turned around and grabbed onto the seat—a decision that may have saved his life. When everyone later told him how smart he had been, Adam simply told his mom:
“Mom, I was told to.”
A few years later, at just nine years old, Adam was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer. What followed were years of chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries, hospital stays, moments of hope, and devastating news. Through it all, Melody and her family began to recognize the many ways God was preparing them, carrying them, and placing angels in their path.
Perhaps most powerful of all was Adam’s own faith. As his cancer progressed, Melody asked him if he knew what it was like to die. His eyes lit up.
“Yes, Mom. You’re with people that love you. And you don’t have pain.”
Not long after, Adam told her he needed to prepare because he would be “leaving on my mission really soon.”
This episode is about childhood cancer and unimaginable loss—but it is also about something much bigger: a loving Heavenly Father who does not leave us alone in our hardest moments.
Melody’s story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes angels come as family members, neighbors, doctors, church members, or strangers who simply show up when we need them most. And sometimes, those angels may be on the other side of the veil.
We hope Adam’s story strengthens your faith, helps you recognize God’s hand in your own life, and reminds you to cherish the ordinary moments with the people you love.

Have you ever looked back on an inconvenience and realized it may have been one of God's greatest blessings?
In this Short Story Wednesday, Brent is joined by his younger brother, Michael Wyatt, who shares a simple but powerful experience from a family road trip that changed the way they see miracles. When their vehicle suddenly developed brake problems after more than 1,000 miles on the road, frustration quickly turned into gratitude as they recognized all the ways Heavenly Father had protected their family.
What could have been a devastating accident became a testimony that God is involved in the details of our lives—not always by preventing trials, but by guiding us safely through them.

Sometimes the most meaningful miracles aren’t dramatic—they’re spoken.
While on a family reunion at Bear Lake, Brent and Mikaela tried a simple activity with their kids, nieces, and nephews: everyone took turns sharing something they genuinely loved about each person in the car. What started as a fun conversation quickly became emotional as hearts opened and people heard things about themselves they had never heard before.
In this short episode, Brent and Mikaela talk about why we so often leave kind words unspoken, how hearing sincere encouragement can change the way we see ourselves, and why God often uses ordinary people to remind us that we are loved.
This week, we have one simple challenge for you: tell someone why you love them. You never know how much they may need to hear it.
Go be an angel. Sometimes the message God wants someone to receive is one that He sends through you.
Some stories remind us that even in our deepest grief, God can bring purpose, healing, and hope.
At just 14 years old, Morgan Whisnant lost her father to cancer. Four years later, she lost her mother as well. For years she wrestled with overwhelming grief, anxiety, and the question of how to move forward after losing both of her parents.
Then something unexpected happened.
What started as a simple goal to run a marathon for children experiencing grief turned into a viral movement—complete with a pickle suit, millions of views, thousands of dollars raised, and countless lives impacted. Along the way, Morgan began recognizing tender mercies, feeling closer to her parents than ever before, and discovering that healing often comes as we choose to serve others.
In this heartfelt conversation, Morgan shares what it was like to lose both parents at such a young age, the lessons grief has taught her, the importance of showing up for those who are hurting, and the beautiful ways she believes our loved ones continue to encourage us from beyond this life.
Whether you're grieving the loss of someone you love, searching for hope, or simply looking for a reminder that you are never alone, Morgan's story will leave you encouraged and inspired.

This week we’re recording Short Story Wednesday a little differently—from the road during our family vacation.
As we celebrate Teagon’s third birthday, we take time to reflect on the incredible miracles that brought him into our family. From one unexpected phone call to countless tender mercies along the way, we’re reminded that God is often working in ways we don’t recognize until we look back.
We also share what these experiences have taught us about gratitude, parenting, and becoming the people God is helping us become.
Sometimes the greatest miracles aren’t just the moment everything changes—they’re the everyday moments that follow. We’re grateful to still be living ours.
What if the hardest moments of your life were preparing you for your greatest purpose?
Born and raised in Spain, Miriam Woolsey grew up hearing stories of angels and miracles. As an adult, those stories became deeply personal. From a mysterious voice that protected her on a dark street in Madrid, to powerful spiritual impressions that guided her through life, Miriam has witnessed heaven's hand again and again.
But her greatest tests were still to come.
After experiencing the heartbreaking loss of two babies through stillbirth, Miriam found herself asking God the same question so many of us have asked: **Why?** In the depths of grief, she received answers that changed the course of her life forever.
Soon after, Miriam was diagnosed with lupus and told she would likely spend the rest of her life managing the disease. Refusing to give up hope, she sought the Lord's guidance one step at a time. Through faith, revelation, and life-changing changes, Miriam experienced a remarkable healing that even her doctors couldn't explain.
In this inspiring episode, Miriam shares how angels ministered to her, how God speaks to His children today, and why there is always hope—even in our darkest moments.
Whether you're searching for healing, struggling through loss, or simply wondering if God still speaks, this conversation is a beautiful reminder that heaven is closer than we often realize.
**In this episode:**
• Growing up with stories of angels in Spain
• The voice that protected her from danger
• Losing two babies to stillbirth
• Finding peace through unimaginable grief
• Her unexpected lupus diagnosis

We pray Miriam's testimony reminds you that you are never alone, God has not forgotten you, and there is always hope through Jesus Christ.
