On this week’s episode I sit down with Anne Cummins, Anne is a wife, a mother, a sister and an aunt, my aunt.

I always wanted to sit down with Anne, as a child I always remember her big personality, always kind and so welcoming.

We chat about her life born into a huge family in the tenements of Dublin, an era where money meant nothing where people didn’t look at each differently because what you had was shared.

We chat about how family is most important and how now and over the past few years she has relied on her brothers and sisters more than ever.

We talk about her Dermot and the man he was, how Parkinson’s destroyed their dreams and the awful decision made for Dermot to go to a nursing home.

We talk about the painful, difficult fair deal process and how she couldn’t cope if Dermot was alive today during covid.

We talk about her beautiful daughters, her love of bingo and the absolute carry on of their come dine with me nights.

This is a lovely listen, Ann has the kindest soul which she attributes to Dermot and her mantra of if you have nothing nice to say…… say nothing
