Finding benchmarks throughout a 17-game season isn't as simple as cutting a 16-game schedule into four quarters — but we're going to try!
The Miami Dolphins are one of the NFL's best teams throughout five weeks, but it hasn't just been quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and a high-flying passing offense that is guiding the way. Miami's offensive line has been a pleasant surprise every week. Right tackle Austin Jackson deserves love after struggling early in his career.
Defensively, we spotlight Andrew Van Ginkel, who leads the team with four sacks, and DeShon Elliot, who is arguably Miami's most underated free agent signing through five weeks. The Dolphins don't feature a playoff-ready defense, but defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has the unit headed in the right direction.
