  • My Day Of Play 3 Crazy Unedited Talks With Danny Alioto Joe Menedez And Annie Fitzsimmons
Welcome back to the studio.  This is My Day of Play, where you’re taken into the real events and actions of how it happens long before the process of editing or cleaning up.  The original purpose of these episodes was to give my broadcasting students something to edit, to practice with and to call their own.  Then I realized that you are just as important.  Share the reality of how it really went.  We begin things with film director Dean Alioto who in January of 2025 unveiled to the world The Alien Perspective. Then we’re going to spend some valuable time with another veteran writer and director Mr. Joe Menendez who was going all out with a Paramount driven live action thriller Henry Danger the movie. And we’ll wrap things up with National Geographics very own Annie Fitzsimmons who released 100 Hotels of a Lifetime. This is My Day of Play.  Completely unedited in the way of meeting the wizard behind the curtain.

  • Rise Girl Rise From Gloria Steinem And Leymah Gbowee
In a bold anthem, Rise, Girl, Rise, feminist organizer Gloria Steinem and Nobel Peace Prize winner Leymah Gbowee share their parallel journeys as activists. This picture book for children is told through alternating points of view and culminating in a powerful collective “we,” celebrating resilience and empowerment to inspire girls everywhere to raise their voices, stand together, and rise up for themselves and others.

“A visually powerful feminist primer that inspires emotion…” --Kirkus

“Highlighting the twinned stories of their egalitarian awakenings, the authors emphasize the importance of sisterhood in this persuasively rallying work.”-- Publishers Weekly

Gloria and Leymah share personal stories of growing up in vastly different parts of the world, each confronting the injustices faced by girls and women in their communities. Their experiences—shaped by courage, conviction, and a deep desire for change—led them to become fierce advocates for equality.

  • PBS Presents The Librarians From Julie Miller And Kim Snyder
PBS’s INDEPENDENT LENS, the film follows a courageous network of besieged librarians as they unite to examine how book restriction policies are shaping library collections. “The Librarians” takes viewers from Texas to Florida and beyond, where local libraries have become unexpected battlegrounds in a national struggle over parental control, intellectual freedom, and democracy itself. Sparked by the controversial “Krause List” in Texas, which targets 850 books centered on race and LGBTQIA+ stories, the film takes a deep investigative dive into the escalating movement against book banning. The film captures the courage and resilience of the everyday heroes, librarians, as well as concerned parents and students flanking them, who have become first responders in the fight for the freedom to read, standing defiantly against censorship at all costs.Director/Producer Kim A. Snyder is the Peabody Award-winning filmmaker of “Newtown” (Sundance 2016, INDEPENDENT LENS, Netflix), “Us Kids” (Sundance 2020 and 14 subsequent awards), “Lessons from a School Shooting…” (Tribeca 2018–Best Documentary Short, Netflix Original, Grierson Award nominee), and “Welcome to Shelbyville” (INDEPENDENT LENS). For more info, visit:

  • The Daily Mess Breaking Daily Writing Rules Plus Do Things Fall Into Place
I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   If something is written in a journal two days out, is that breaking the rules of being a daily writer?  Plus…we hear it all the time, it all fell into place.  Does it really happen that way?   I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…

  • Two Hollywood Historians One William Friedkin From Nat Segaloff And Thomas Clagett
ABOUT NAT SEGALOFF'S BOOK HURRICANE BILLYOriginally published in 1990, Hurricane Billy: The Stormy Life and Films of William Friedkin is at last available again with a new foreword and extensive afterword written in assessment of William Friedkin's career following his 2023 death. Biographer Nat Segaloff draws upon his fifty-year friendship with the controversial director of The French Connection, The Exorcist, To Live and Die in L.A., Cruising, and his greatest achievement, Sorcerer.. This was the first book to offer an intimate portrait of the director. BearManor Media is proud to bring this work back into print. Nat Segaloff's Hurricane Billy: The Stormy Life and Films of William Friedkin is an in-depth look at this mercurial filmmaker of "The French Connection," "The Exorcist," Sorcerer" and other dynamic classics. Billy (his friends called him that) was as explosive as his movies. He was known to hit actors, shoot off a handgun to get an effect, and tell people off to their faces regardless of the consequences. Nat knew him for 50 years and wrote "The Exorcist Legacy" (2023) as well as more than 30 other books, mostly about movies. "Hurricane Billy" was written with Friedkin's participation in 1990 and is being republished after disappearing on its publication 35 years ago.ABOUT THOMAS CLAGETT'S WILLIAM FRIEDKIN: FILMS OF ABERRATION, OBSESSIIN & REALITYWilliam Friedkin: Films of Aberration, Obsession, and Reality was first published in 1990 and has been massively revised and expanded it for this new 2026 edition. It covers all of Friedkin's films in detail, and explores the connections between the man and his movies, as well as their cinematic legacy. It is incredibly provocative in showing how Friedkin's films reflect not only the man who made them but also the world he lives in. Tom went to USC and worked on "The Two Jakes" and "St. Elsewhere" as an assistant editor and since then has won awards for his books in the genre of historical fiction.
