ArTEEtude is West Cork´s first art, fashion and design podcast created and produced by Detlef Schlich. Schlich operates with his podcast cross-sectorally. For him a visual artist has to think transversely instead just enjoying the luxury of being the antagonist. To drive the narrative and to be a protagonist, he will dive and discover with us into the unknown and exciting deep ocean of the creative mind.

Michael Elliott is the author of the first-ever biography of songwriting legend John Hiatt. Elliott is a contributor to the pioneering roots music authority No Depression. His music writing has also appeared in PopMatters, Albumism, Americana UK, and The Bitter Southerner. Michael spent close to thirty years in radio as operations manager, music director, program director, and disc jockey in a variety of formats. He has interviewed and produced profiles on musicians as diverse as Isaac Hayes, Charlie Daniels, Delbert McClinton, Johnny Rivers, and Little Richard. He lives in Raleigh, NC where he and his wife, Elizabeth, volunteer for the NC Reading Service, a nonprofit radio service that delivers content to the blind and visually impaired.

Elliot´s biography about Hiatt is based on Elliott's multiple extensive and deeply personal interviews with Hiatt as well as his collaborators and contemporaries, including Rosanne Cash, Bonnie Raitt, Ry Cooder, and many others, Have a Little Faith is the journey through the musical landscape of the 1960s through today that places Hiatt’s long career in context with the glossy pop, college-alternative, mainstream country, and heartland rock of the last half-century. A variety of artists in multiple genres have covered his songs, including Aaron Neville, B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, Chaka Khan, Albert Lee, Dave Edmunds, Delbert McClinton, Desert Rose Band, Emmylou Harris, Eric Clapton, Iggy Pop, I'm with Her, Jeff Healey, Jewel, Jimmy Buffett, Joan Baez, Joe Bonamassa, Joe Cocker, Keith Urban, Linda Ronstadt, Mandy Moore, Maria Muldaur, Nick Lowe, Paula Abdul, Paulini, Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash, Ry Cooder, Suzy Bogguss, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Searchers, Three Dog Night, Willie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel, and Willy DeVille. For him, a visual artist has to think transversely instead of just enjoying the luxury of being the antagonist. To drive the narrative and to be a protagonist, he will dive and discover with us into the unknown and exciting deep ocean of the creative mind.

In this podcast Schlich reflects on his talk guests Bernd Franco Hoffmann and Zoe Szilagyi. He answers listener questions, continues his thoughts about the relationship between Wagner and Nietzche and other philosophical ruminations around this podcast. He reflects on Bernd Franco Hoffmann´s inspiration for his very recent book Sex, Drugs and Symphonies which is supposed to be published in February 2021, from bands like Mötley Crüe, about his time as a music journalist and his embarrassing encounter with Carl Palmer (former Emerson, Lake and Palmer), his experience as co-founder of a pre techno electro-industrial band way back in the 80s and more.Further Schlich reflects on Zoe Szilagi. They talked about Szilagyi´s inspiration for her very first drawings and her decision to become an outsider artist, about her body modifications and the difference between body modifications and trans-humanistic body enhancement and finally about her journey from America back to Europe. Detlef Schlich is Podcaster, Visual Artist, Film Maker and Ritual Designer, living and loving in West Cork and best known for his Essay about the Cause and Effect of Shamanism, Art and Digital Culture and the video installation Transodin´s Tragedy. He is mainly working in the field of performance, photography, painting, sound, installations, and film. To research our human condition and create artwork from this reflection he is using often the methodology of the digital shaman as alter ego.

Hoffmann´s previously unpublished book “Sex, Drugs & Symphonies or The Incredible Story of Adrian, Riggbert & Theyler”, with its mixture of rock history, comedy and thriller, is a unique musical biography that has never existed before. On their odyssey through thirty years of real music and contemporary history, the three musicians meet historical personalities such as Romy Schneider, Elena Ceaușescu and Charlie Chaplin. In 1983 Hoffmann (synth, tapes) founded with Guido Kopp (synth, tapes) the electronic industrial band SEKTOR, based in Cologne. Back then the audience in the pre-techno era said: "You can't let the synthesizer run for 20 minutes and nobody sings". After several concepts and band member changes, concerts all over Germany followed, including at Documenta 8 in Kassel, before the band broke up in 1991.

Zoe Szilagyi is making art since her very early childhood. She is an autodidact and considers her art as OUTSIDER punk art , dark art or underground art. She was part of the squatter scene in Berlin after the 'Wall" came down. Zoe is living and working in Hungary since 1990 and inspired by the unconditioned expression of life. Her experience with her loving parents brought her to the decision that life for love without judging is her form of life and therefore she devotes her life to the categorical imperative. She lives her life in the same way as she wants to be treated.

ArTEEtude is West Cork´s first art, fashion and design podcast created and produced by Detlef Schlich. Schlich operates with his podcast cross-sectorally. To drive the narrative and to be a protagonist, he will dive and discover with us into the unknown and exciting deep ocean of the creative mind.

In this podcast Schlich talks with Anderson about his youth in Raleigh, North Carolina, the inspiration of his songwriting, his touring through Europe. We listen to “I love you period”, “Battleship chains” and “Knock it off” and learn some insider details of these songs.

Terry Anderson is a drummer, vocalist and songwriter from North Carolina.

Terry is a solo recording artist, leader of the Olympic Ass-Kickin’ Team, onetime drummer/singer/tunesmith with legendary North Carolina combos the Fabulous Knobs, the Woodpeckers and the Woods. Also, a notable tunesmith whose songbook includes material recorded by Etta James, Jo Dee Messina and Dan Bair, former lead singer/guitarist of the Georgia Satellites.

For him, a visual artist has to think transversely instead of just enjoying the luxury of being the antagonist. To drive the narrative and to be a protagonist, he will dive and discover with us into the unknown and exciting deep ocean of the creative mind.

In this podcast Schlich talks with Working Class Rockstar Ivan “Funkboy” Bodley about Bodley´s youth in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the difficulties of growing up in a small town and the aspiration to find a better life. They talk about how bass lessons from Bodley´s mentor and friend, Stanley Clarke inspired him to follow the line of a professional musician and about the experience of being livelong on the road as a bass guitarist and how you can survive this life without getting depressed. We will listen to Bodley´s tunes like Pig´s Feet and Potted Meat, Bustin Hump and Crab Walk and learn some insider details of these songs.

Ivan “Funkboy” Bodley is a bass player and music director to the stars. He has performed with 50 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees. He has been music director for Sam Moore (Sam & Dave), Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, The Shirelles, The Crystals, and has performed with Sting, Elvis Costello, Temptations, Solomon Burke, Ben E. King, Percy Sledge, Eddie Floyd, Bo Diddley, Paul Rodgers, Wynonna Judd, and David Foster.

Ivan Bodley is as well an author. His book “Am I Famous Yet?”, describes the life of a working musician who has met, worked closely with, and gotten to know renowned rock stars. He has practically become a rock star himself but without all of the annoying trappings of actual notoriety or fortune.

Detlef Schlich is Podcaster, Visual Artist, Film Maker and Ritual Designer, living and loving in West Cork and best known for his Essay about the Cause and Effect of Shamanism, Art and Digital Culture and the video installation Transodin´s Tragedy.
