Autism and Bullying Podcast

Listen Later

The episode today is one that is probably close to all of our hearts, and it’s all about autism and bullying.

I think every person in the world has had some sort of experience from bullying. Maybe it was you being bullied. Or do you know a friend or family member who has gone through bullying? And honestly, it’s one of the worst things to go through at any age – not just as a child in school!

I wanted to use this as a reminder that bullying can happen at any age and in any place. It does not just mean children in schools – it’s anyone around the world in any situation. And bullying is just awful. This is why I wanted to use this platform to talk about bullying.

What Am I Talking About?

On the podcast today, I am talking all about;

  • What is bullying?
  • How it feels to be bullied. I’ve spoken to individuals on the autism spectrum about their personal experiences.
  • Ways that you can help someone who is being bullied.
  • Looking for signs of bullying.
  • Why someone may bully another.
  • How to help the bully.
  • Looking for signs of the bully.
  • Bullying inside and outside of school.
  • Helpful Links and Resources
    • More Podcast Episodes.
    • Free Anti-Bullying PowerPoint.
    • Daily Kindness Activity Pack
    • National Autistic Society – Autism and Bullying
    • Autism Awareness PowerPoint
    • I hope that you have found this episode helpful in finding out more about autism and bullying and ways that we can help to identify this. If you did, please consider sharing it with your friends and colleagues on social media.

Do you have any tips or helpful information to share with us about autism and bullying? If so, leave a comment down below. I love being able to hear other peoples experiences. And like I always say, sometimes the best professional development, comes from the teacher next door.
