  • 28 - Think Again: Reframing Unhelpful Thoughts

Welcome to another The Knomii Podcast, where we delve deep into the intricacies of the mind and self with your hosts, Cynthia Garrett LMHC, and Madeline Farquharson, Co-Active Coach. Today, we have special guest and Coach, Matthew Fuller.

In this episode, we explore the often uncharted territories of our thoughts and perceptions, discussing the human tendency to overvalue intelligence and consequently, view our thoughts as unequivocal facts. We live in a world that prizes intellectual prowess, but are our brains always right? Are our thoughts always reflective of reality?

🧠 Topics covered in this episode:

    • Overvaluing Intelligence: How our society’s emphasis on intellect can lead us to perceive our thoughts as absolute truths.
    • Recognizing Cognitive Distortions: We will delve into how to identify warped thinking patterns, accompanied by real-world examples to illustrate these distortions in everyday life.
    • Tools for Self-Correction: Discover practical strategies and tools to untangle twisted thoughts and recalibrate your mind, empowering you to see the world more clearly and make more informed decisions.

By understanding how our brains can sometimes mislead us, we can begin to develop a healthier, more balanced relationship with our thoughts. We aim to empower our listeners with the knowledge and tools to understand themselves better and to navigate through life’s mental mazes with increased clarity and confidence.

Whether you're someone who’s intrigued by the human mind or simply looking to understand yourself better and develop healthier thinking patterns, this episode is packed with insights and practical advice tailored just for you. So, tune in and join Cynthia, Matthew and Madeline on a journey to a more enlightened and balanced self!
