Join Bernadette from the Murderific podcast as she covers a case that is beyond bizarre: the case of triple murderer Matthew Hoffman. In 2010, Hoffman killed three members of one family, dismembered them, and placed their body parts into hollow trees. It was just a hint of the obsession the unemployed tree trimmer had with trees, leaves and branches. He kept the fourth family member, a 13 year old girl, hostage in his home, on a bed of leaves. When police entered the home, they found the house filled with more than 100 bags of leaves, piles of leaves throughout the house, and dead squirrels in the freezer. His confession would provide chilling details of Matthew Hoffman’s twisted mind.

Her family began receiving strange phone calls from men claiming to have seen her, but no trace of Emanuela has ever been found. Debate about her fate still rages in Rome. What happened to Emanuela Orlandi?

Episode 18 Robert Berdella; The Butcher of Kansas City

This story is perfect for Beyond Bizarre, as Berdella was the owner of Bob's Bizarre Bazaar in Kansas City. His curio shop was not what he is famous for, however – it was his torture and murder of six young men between 1984 and 1987 that earned him his fearsome nickname. When one of his captives, who had suffered horrific abuse at Berdella’s hands, managed to escape and alert police, authorities unearthed unspeakable horror in the home of the Butcher, including photographs of his sexual assault of young men, evidence of grotesque methods of physical torture , and a skull buried in the backyard. Episode 17 Katherine 'Katie' Janness

Join the host for this episode. CJ from Beyond the Rainbow podcast, as she discusses a case that is beyond bizarre: the recent murder of Katherine 'Katie' Janness. Katie set out for a walk with her fiancé’s dog Bowie in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park very late on a Thursday night in July 2021. On her walk, someone attacked her and Bowie, and stabbed them both to death. When she failed to return home her fiancé Emma used Find My iPhone to track her, and found Katie and Bowie both bleeding and dead near the entrance to the park. Katie had a message carved into her torso, and she was stabbed more than 50 times. No one can think of a motive why anyone would kill this young woman, and police are stumped. Who killed Katie and Bowie?

Episode 15: “Wild Bill” Holbert

Join Javier from the podcasts Criminal Conduct and Pretend as he digs into a case that is beyond bizarre – that of serial killer William Dathan Holbert II, aka Wild Bill. Holbert was the leader of the Southern National Patriots white nationalist group in North Carolina until he went on the run after he and his partner were accused of illegal activities there. After eluding police, they settled in Panama and changed their name to Cortez. There Holbert was responsible for the murders of five Americans who owned properties that Holbert wanted. He buried his victims in his backyard. He is also believed to have killed a sixth victim, a lawyer he confessed to murdering. Holbert is notorious for his charisma, and even in prison for the murders, has gained a devoted following.

Episode 14 Katarzyna Zowada
