In this episode of Beyond The Pitch, Juan sits down with one of the owners of Inter Miami. Jorge Mas as part of his #MiamiMLSSeries. Mas is a South Florida native as well as a very famous entrepreneur that talks about legacy and the lessons that he learned from his father, Jorge Mas Canosa.

Jorge also talks about what his stadium looks to do and how he plans to bring more marginalized communities in South Florida and have them involved in the Inter project. He also talked about how this team had to look at Miami as a market unlike any other in the United States and how nuanced and how effective it would have to be in order for the team to truly have an impact.

Mas was extremely candid an honest in this interview and brings for his points of view and admits what ultimately will help many detractors and people that still feel the sadness of the contraction of the Miami Fusion.

He is an authority in terms of NFL and American sports, but he is also a rabid soccer fan as well as been involved with various teams such as the Miami Fusion, Ft. Lauderdale Strikers and Miami FC. It will be a little bit of a moment of reminiscing for both as they worked for Miami FC, but they end up talking about how the new Major League Soccer franchise in South Florida will help fans and the game grow in this very important market. Orlando also talks about the past of Miami soccer dating all the way back to the 1980's as well as the blood in the eye that was left in various fans after the Fusion were contracted back in 2001. The next series of interviews will delve into the often-forgotten Haitian community in South Florida. The Haitian community is amongst one of the largest in the market with approximately 700,000 people. What also has to be most noted is that the community is extremely passionate about football and very little has been done in the past to include them in the marketing mix. This is why Juan brings in Haitian journalist Rodolphe Gauthier to discuss this topic. He's talked about his successes both on the pitch such as helping Miami Edison High School become a renowned soccer school in the area; and the successes in the sociopolitical arena like getting the land for his club. He also discusses the inroads he is looking to make with David Beckham and his group as they both have had conversations and interactions in the past. He also talks about what that group needs to do in order to truly tap into a market of 750,000 people in South Florida. Mr. Laleau is also talks about the obstacles that many kids in the inner city have when it comes to having the ability to play at the club level or even at the collegiate level in the United States.
