On December 17th, 2004, 39-year-old Lisa Montgomery showed off her newborn baby around her small Kansas town. Like any new mom, she felt great pride to have her wide-eyed baby fawned over and admired. But this wasn’t an ordinary pregnancy. Nobody could recall seeing Lisa with a swollen belly, on the verge of bringing a child into the world. When she showed everyone her baby for the first time, something seemed off.
